• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Drive Belt Tensioner

Just got my tensioner from Capt Jim. Delivered here in only 5 days, great service. It is now installed, set to between 10-12 lbs and the results are tremendous! It smoothens my RT right out and it runs so much better at even low rpms. I used to have to downshift before but find that I am not doing it as much. Thanks Jim!

I have also installed the tensioner and find it a great improvement on the highway. Haven't noticed any difference as far as "down shifting" and don't understand why the tensioner would have anything to do with that. Anyway, thanks Capt. Jim.

Anyone in the NJ area capable of installing one of these on an RT?

The word "drill" is enough to scare me away..:helpsmilie: nor do i own one:gaah:

:agree: Do you have a website address for this little beauty??

We also need pictures!

Have had one on an RT for 8-mo. now and love it. If you are on the fence jump, it is a good mod. Glad to see he has the one for the RT ready now.

What I mean about down shifting is that the bike has smoothened out so much that I can drive it in a lower rpm range without downshifting like before. I do not lug it but can maintain speeds now even at 3500 rpms and as long as I don't demand full throttle and can accelerate with little vibrations. The tensioner works great! I for one am happy!

Thanks for the feedback and kind words, glad it's working well for those with belt vibration. I posted in the RT Touring section on June 8 that they were available, with pic's, but didn't get any response:dontknow:. For those that have grinding and vibration in the handlebars and front end, check that anti vibration strut bolt, seems to be a lot more prevalent than the dealers would have you believe, for those that are feeling vibe's in the backend and footpegs, If you noticed it after having your spyder serviced, good chance it is belt related. Thanks again everyone.
