• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Drive belt tension?

I've always adjusted my own (and others) belt tension via a simple gauge. The gauge applies a certain amount of pressure and you see if the amount of belt deflection is within specs. It's very simple and DIY. I see that Can-Am uses a sonic method related to the belt's vibration. I'm looking to find someone who had a properly adjusted (sonic method) belt that was then compared to the gauge method. I would much rather do this on my own.

This topic has been beat to death. :bdh: I recommend doing a search on the topic. There are lots of opinions and recommendations out there.

If I recall it correctly ; Scotty suggested that a properly tensioned belt can be twisted to about a ninety degree angle at the midpoint of the span between the sprockets... If you can get it to that point without breaking a sweat, and can't take a whole lot farther; you're probably good to go! :2thumbs:
