• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Drips

Sometimes, not all the time, when I park my Spyder in the driveway or garage it will drip. Not immediately, and doesn't appear to be continuous, just a drip or two, it leaves what appears to be a oil donut on the ground. Normal/abnormal? Any idea what is dripping? I haven't been able to see anything.:dontknow:

There should be no drips, oil or otherwise. In relationship to the Spyder, where does the drip land?

Mine will drip every once in awhile, from the vent tube from the fuel tank. Noticed this after I did the Canisterectomy.

FUEL, no doubt. If it's only sporatic, I'd not worry. When it starts to do it all the time, you'll smell it, see the vapors from the fuel vent tube and have lots of fuel spots underneath. After 2 months of messing around with 2 new cans, purge valve and the stench, the canisterectemy was my only alternative. It has reduced the dripping, etc to what I guess is a minimum. It started in cold weather and now in the summer, it is only occasional. Don't fill the gas tank all the way to the lip, move the fuel vent tube back to the swing arm so it's away from the catalytic converted and the exhaust and live with it. Also put more insulation on the fuel tank and wrap as much exhaust as you can. BRP knows of all this stuff and still has not provided a fix as far as I know. The fuel tank vent itself is evidently part of the mystery(or is the basic problem) also.:banghead:

Other than this situation, I'm a very happy camper. Had my RT one year tomorrow with almost 21,000 miles.

I've noticed a "donut" drip on my driveway twice in the last two months. About the size of a quarter with an interior wet spot the size of a pencil eraser. This was before my first service at the dealers. Nothing since that service. I was gonna mention it when I came in for the first service but got kinda distracted when the service writer told me what the service would cost me.

Fuel? Oil? Coolant? Exactly where? You have to give a bit more to go on before we can help you pin it down. As Ron said, "No, it is not normal." Drips from oil in the airbox, or fuel from the canister vent are not uncommon, however.

You know it's going to be a big bill when they start asking you questions like; do you have a heart condition, etc.

On my 2010 RTS, donut drip was from water pump shaft oil o ring failure was replaced under extended warranty. Factory kit for this repair included new water pump shaft and bunch of seals.
