• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

draining oil off of car ramps

probably not, but even on the "instructed" level surface, your drain is not "complete" either.
It's the nature of an oil change, we drain what we can.

On my 12' RS I get 4 qts on a drain with the fronts on ramps. I tried once where I rolled it back off the ramps to see if any additional oil drained out, and none did.

Based on two oil changes on the 1330 engine on car ramps I believe I got as much if not more out than I would have if the Spyder was on the level garage floor. I offer that if you look at the position of both the engine and clutch cover plugs, they are both located toward the aft side of the engine and the angle of the engine on the car ramps gives a very good chance of getting as much oil as possible out of the engine. Remember too that when you loosen the oil filter cover you are going to hear a gush of oil into your drain pan so the engine isn't as empty as it could be until that's done. I let the engine drain 45 min to an hour while I eat a leisurely lunch. The initial 5qt refill brings the oil level at operating temperature to the Min mark on the dipstick. Shawn Smoak's oil change video says an additional 200cc (6.76 oz) brings the level to full. I add 4-5 oz and call it quits. YMMV.
