• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OK warranty bulletin 2010-7 which are campaign numbers 2008-0010/2009-0006 and 2010-0007

Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) Unit Replacement.

this supersedes bulletin # 2009-2 which was the DPS software update.

This is for 2008 and 2009 GS
2010 RS and RT

SOME MODELS ARE EXCLUDED but this you need to call your dealer and check. Limited DPS units are available and how it works is BRP sends a few units out and then as we send them old units they exchange those for new ones. They are next day air covering all parts so that should help any long delay.

Okay. Just WHAT does "warranty bulletin 2010-7 say. I have read Lamont's posts. I've read other posts regarding this issue.

I'm asking because my dealer was of the opinion that this "new" bulletin covered spyders with certain vin numbers. In reading Lamont's posts I could only glean from those links that this bulletin was covering ALL spyders regardless of vin numbers.

Can and would someone help me on this one please?

It's my understanding that the only Spyders that won't need a new DPS is the 2011 and just a few of the late 2010's

Thanks Lamont. Although there is no emergency on my end. I want to be accurate when I go down there (the dealership) again and ask about it. I guess bottom line is that I simply need to be patient and wait for "the letter" from BRP. Thanks again.

DPS

Just wondering what the issue is with the DPS? My 08 Premier Edition had the software update and it still failed. Wow was it hard to drive when it acted up and funny thing was that I was on my way to my dealer 30 miles away when it happened. I have had no issues yet and am leaving for Lake placid in the morning were I will be on twisty roads and spirited driving. I did call my dealer and my name is in for the update fix when the parts are available. Does anyone have Vin #'s for the late 2010's that are not affected?? I also read that rebuilt units are being used???? Not happy about that !!!!!! OK for 08 or 09 models but NOT the RT/RTS models ????

All units produced up until August 19, 2010 are affected, both models. That should include yours. For the RT, the birthday is listed on a tag that can be seen through the left upper body vent, below the windshield. For all Spyders, the month and year of production are list on the VIN# tag. Your problem sounds more like loose relays, though, or a weak battery (loose connectors?).

This posted on the front page of SpyderLovers now too. Look on the right column.

Just off the phone with my dealer and my RT has 2 issues, the first and inportant one being the DPS unit replacement. Yes my RT was built before august and the second issue is to inspect the rear shock. I am going on a trip into mountain roads and drive spirited so to speak and I have driven a Spyder with a bad DPS, no picnic !!!!!!! Here's hopin all goes well till I get it into my dealer. :sour:
