• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS Recall work completed on my RTS

ARtraveler

R.I.P. Dwayne
Just had the recall work completed for the DPS on my RTS. I was planning on waiting until spring, but the dealer called me and wanted to do it now. My first impressions in 100 miles of driving with the new DPS are that the RTS seems more responsive to steering inputs. I have learned to have light hands on any steering input or the bike will wander a lot. For me, the DPS fix seems to accentuate that even more. The shifting seems a bit snappier and less clunky also. The shifting also seems to be smoother. I am happy to say that I had no steering issues or problems in the 7 months and 13000 plus miles of operation--the bike now seems to be a bit more smoother and easier to operate (less effort on the steering). I am happy with the repair and the RTS. I have purchased a new home and will be driving the RTS over to its new garage tomorrow--before the snow flies here. Unfortunately it will be parked there and not ridden any more this year--as I have two more weeks before I move. I know there will be snow on the ground by then, so will not be able to ride it until spring. If there is still no snow--I will ride a bit more. Seth from Minnesota will probably disagree with me about riding in the snow--but I am so afraid of what the cagers are like in winter driving, that I want the protection that my Tribeca affords.

DPS done here as well. I agree with everything you said, lighter touch required, wanders a bit... I think the wandering gets better with time, or maybe I'm getting used to it. It doesn't wander when no hands on the highway so I'm guessing it's just me bouncing around giving little steering input here and there that makes it feel like it's wandering.

I've thrown it into turns a lot quicker than I expected, but all the electronics have kept me tires down. Makes me want to look at sway bars, shocks...

Every improvement just makes me want more! My wallet is bleeding.

With snow on it's way I wonder what it will take to keep me riding as many days as possible... definitely need some warmer gear, everything I own is made to keep me cool!

I like Firstgear stuff. Ranier Jacket & pants with liners. Good waterproof boots work to keep your feet warmer. Was 35 degrees today but I still liked the ride.

OK, I'm game. What is a Tribeca???

Yes, Subaru Tribeca. That is the big Subaru SUV. There are a lot of Subaru's in Alaska because they have all wheel drive.

Just had the upgrade done to my Spyder last week. I noticed that it handles better too. Wish I had it when I rode the Dragon at SitS. I thought it handled great then. Can't wait till next year to do it again with a better handling machine, Made out alright at the dealer, while waiting for them to do the work signed up for a drawing at their openhouse last Saturday. They called me and said I won a fullface helmet. Not bad for somebody who was killing time.

 to Roger B...
I got a chance to log some miles on mine today... (got it back on Saturday) the steering feels lighter at speed and a LOT smoother. :2thumbs:
