• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS recall rant

My RT has been at the dealer's for 2 weeks waiting on the DPS recall unit. Turned out that the one they received was for a GS/RS. :cus:

I've a call into BRP asking why it's taking so long. They were supposed to get back to me by today.

This is not good... summer is too short in this part of the world to be futzing around for a recalled part.

Is the same flooding that is affecting North Dakota also affecting Saskatchewan? When we crossed the border the customs officer told us that most of the roads headed west were down to one lane and would close soon due to the flooding. Maybe that's delayed deliveries?

Update

Pierre from BRP called today (after most of a week since I called) to say my DPS unit would ship tomorrow. That's 3 weeks since the 1st unit was sent that was for a GS. With any luck, I'll have my RT back in time for the July 1st Canada Day long weekend...

Summer is slipping away...the days are already getting shorter...

The plan is still to head to Montreal and Magog in time for the Fest. Here's hoping. :helpsmilie:

Flooding is still very bad in ND, southwest Manitoba, and southeast Saskatchewan. It's not on the major E-W highways, although the Trans-Canada was closed several days earlier on.

Anyway, the part is being shipped tomorrow by overnight express, so hopefully it won't be a kid on a bicycle and might just get here this week!

Picked up the RT today after over 2 weeks waiting on the part from BRP.
Only did 135 km (75 mi) but everything seems just fine. Finally..
