Yes, but I'll need play around with it some more.
I liked the fronts at 20lbs, the rear at 30lbs. Dealer returned it to me with 15lbs front, 30lbs rear. The fronts were too soft, so I thought, so I pumped them back up to 20lbs figuring that would stabilize the ride back to where it was. Nope.
I'm getting used to the new DPS, but I still don't like it. I95 in CT has a lot of wear-in from the 18-wheelers (tarmac is higher in the center of the lane.) With the new DPS, the bars are moving to the groove of the road much more than they previously were, where it was a stiffer ride at high speed (above 60 mph.)
I'll post again should I find a better setup w/the tires. Until then, I'm still bummin'
20 is WAY too high for the OEM front tires -- this will greatly contribute to bouncing.....
Lower them and try it again-- if you still feel it's jumping around-- then get it back to your dealer ASAP-- something isn't right.
This new DPS absolutely ROCKS (Raptor even had his '14' done and now says he likes IT).
If you have it replaced and it doesn't handle BETTER than before--- then something ain't right. Yes it feels different--- but it's FAR superior to how the old units worked.
Many of us high mileage ryders, as well as 'aggressive' ryders have put it through the paces and everyone seems to really like it. (Lamont, Doc, Seth, Forrest, Myself, and many more....).
I ran mine 90 for 2 hours on my way home from TN--- weaving in and out-- really testing it----one handed, two handed-- sometimes no handed--- and it's on rails--- amazingly superior to before--- at all speeds.
Took it out again today on 'my' roads and it's just fantastic!
I think yours is really the exception here-- and may have a totally different problem (alignment, etc.).
I fully understand some being skeptical-- but this isn't just some half-baked software patch update--- this is a new piece of hardware. Give it a shot.
As far as them requiring the old ones back--- my guess is they have to return them to the actual manufacturer (
KONGESBERG ).
