• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS MANUFACTURE

When I type in Kongsberg, I find this several times on different blog sites:

Example:

http://www.autoblog.com/2009/06/11/nearly-10-000-can-am-spyders-recalled-over-faulty-steering/

So it says Kongberg will pay for the replacements now will that include people who's warrantys have expired?

This might be what you were thinking of, Kim.

It's a document dated May 19 sent to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, posted on Norway's Norsk Spyderforum (yeah, sure--I read it all the time.)

("The supplier of the Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) system is Kongsberg Inc.")

The story I heard was they made a slight manufacturing change without ever letting BRP know and THAT is causing the DPS failures in our Spyders. Has anyone else heard this?

Does anyone know serial #s that are affected? I belive my Spyder is an early 2009. Do not want to be left in the cold on this as it is easy to fall throught the cracks on recalls.

Yeah but if they pay for it w/ BRP, wouldn't ya think BRP would pay for it towards the customers? Or am I dreamin?

BRP would have to issue a statement saying that they're going to warranty the DPS and whatever else for a period of time after a 'final' fix...whenever that is...it would make sense that they'd do this as there are major problems here...we'll have to wait and see...

As far as the manufacturer of the parts doing anything on their own...most likely not...

The wheels and tires come from China ....watch out for those valve stems !!
