• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS failed, new DPS installed, 1:55 error code (whatever that is), overheating, etc.

Finally!!! My bike is back home as of yesterday! WOOO HOOO!!! Not sure what the actual problem turned out to be, or if the dealer's techs ever knew. I still contend it was a bad install on the DPS unit that was replaced under the recall but they were closed mouthed. The steering sensor and steering magnet was replaced in this go around. Bringing her home yesterday I put about 65 miles of pure pleasurable riding on her without incident! Again, a big WOOO HOOO!!! So glad to have her back!! :D

Still not satisfied with the treatment from the dealership, and none of my fellow riders who have kept up with my saga are, either. I ride with the (Arkansas) Patriot Guard Riders and we're a tight group of bikers who watch out for one another, as well we all should. They were a bit appalled that the dealership refused to help get the bike back to me after the repairs, considering the reason it went back was because of their workmanship or lack thereof. But that's been just one glitch in this long story (just over a month from start to finish). Sure hope Carlo and team keep their eyes and ears open for anyone looking to open shop here to properly service us ---- lots of interest in these bikes, especially among many of my disabled US veteran brothers and sisters that I ride with, but they don't want to purchase from this dealer or have to go there for service. Sad to see the interest in this bike suffer as a result....

Thanks again to all of you for your input and concern!!! I know I'd still be fighting my battle if not for this forum and the eyes that watch here.

glad you got here back and running. That dealer has no spyder techs, I had to show them how to take Tupperware off!! Boats and 4 whellers is about the only thing they know how to work on. They do have a new service mgr. that was very nice. I am sorry but the GM!.... I can not get a long with. My wife cant stand him. My bike was not Dealer prepped when I picked it up. Was very nice till the paper work was done. In and out 5 times and still had a bad miss. I found the front spark plug only had about 2 threads holding it in and wire boot melted from ex oust gases leaking from spark plug whole. I paid out of my pocket for new wires and plugs instead of letting warranty do the repair because I did not want them to touch it. Not naming the dealer, We are not to badger dealers on here...

Today I had a "DPS" code on my 2012 Spyder,{w/385 miles}, and it showed a "Limp Home Message:" on my display screen, lucky I was only about 2 MILES FROM HOME. Got home OK, then called the dealer and told them of the problem, while talking to the tech. I started the spyder up and the code disappeared, and I rode the rest of today with no more problems.
A friend of mine who has a repair shop ran a recall list check for me and the last one for this problem showed up for the 2010's.

Has any other owner of a 2012 had this problem?????????

A variety of things can cause the a DPS failure warning. Your dealer will need to check the fault codes stored in the Spyder computer. While it could indicate a bad DPS, it is more likely the problem stemmed from a low battery, loose relay, loose connection, bad sensor, or sensor calibration issue. It can even happen if the Spyder is severely tilted while running. Have your dealer check the fault codes.
