• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS being changed today

I just took my RT-S in for the DPS change. Tech said it would take 2 1/2 hours. I had my Elka 300 lb shocks installed last week.

Although I have had no apparent issues with my DPS steering, I can't help but think that the steering issue will be better based on all the responses I've seen concerning THIS issue. I realize that the DPS and shocks are different matters, I do believe my "entire riding experience" will be so much better by having both done. I know that it has since the Elkas were installed.

I hope to get my spyder back this afternoon and do some riding tomorrow and over the weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to make it up to Bunnell, Flarda, where a few of us are to meet for breakfast. (I may need to ask the "queen first though).

I'll certainly get back and give my impressions for whatever their worth.

if you have the vibration a lot of us have. have them check the bolt rubbing on frame when they do the DPS as its not much more labor to check when they have the front end open...

Just got my RT back last night after a DPS replacement. I wasn't expecting much of a change, especially since I had not had any steering problems. However, the improvement is startling. It is really nice. No more over correction followed by under correction, and on and on. I went up a 25 mph speedway on ramp at about 45-50 mph without any effort! All I can say is WOW! WOW WOW WOW

I too am thrilled with the handling after the DPS replacement. I may not be ready to run the Tail of the Dragon in front of docdoru or setho without slowing them down but I definitely can take curves a whole lot faster now. :2thumbs:

Well I have it back. I've ridden it about 100 miles. As many of you may know I've been one of those who has repeatedly said that I really didn't have any steering issues. I guess way back in either February or March (a short time after receiving my spyder) I mentioned being buffeted around in the 60 mph winds we were having and also behind big trucks. However, when it came to the problems that I have read reference the "quick drifting" and then over correction, I was one that never experienced.

In retrospect and after having just received my RT-S back with the new DPS unit, I can say that in some sorts I was being too generous with the steering. I guess what I'm saying is that I may have had "minor" problems and just felt that this was the way that my spyder was supposed to handle. I was wrong.

First, I would like to thank BRP for making the corporate decision to have a "total recall" on all of the DPS units. I know it had to cost them a lot of bucks. However, it was the right thing to do, and from a lawyers point of view a prudent one in the long run.

While we were on this website voicing our displeasure with how the spyder handled, I truly believe that BRP was taking action to solve the problem. Again, I commend them for their efforts.

This is not to say that there won't be DPS problems. However, I can truly say that I believe they hit a home run on this one. My steering is so so much better. It's like night and day to me.

As you might guess from the above, I am very pleased with the new DPS unit, and for "POTENTIAL" buyers of a spyder, I would say to you that the steering issue has been resolved.
