• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Down shifting issues???

Retired 2012

Lately while down shifting I am getting lots of E's and it doesn't change gears until I use the shifter multiple times, this happen more often if I have to stop or slow suddenly and don't down shift while doing it?

It is a 2015 F3S SM6, with just over 12,500 miles, service was done at 11,875.

any info is appreciated, thanks in advance for any assistance

Check with your dealer there is a tech service bulletin on gear shift sensors that were defective ours was bad and had similar problems.

been there, changed that. took them a 2nd time on the relearn
but all has been good for 700 miles.:)

mine 1st happened at 230 miles.

Bummer...

All of the above explains whats going on and a fairly simple fix for a minor snag...call your dealer and make sure he has the parts needed...:banghead:

If you get it done, let me know which dealer you took it to, Temecula, Riverside or Escondido. I live in the same area and would like it done on my F3-S.

Thanks for all the info. and the assistance. I called TMS and spoke with the recall/service bulletin desk. I gave her my VIN and my VIN was not part of the service bulletin but because i
still have some warranty left they are going to replace the G.P.S.
They have one in stock so I am dropping off the bike later today.

Thanks again for all the assistance. Love this site....

The OP has a manual trans. Does the gear position sensor problem apply or is it just for the semi-automatic?

I did wonder that myself but from what I can see the service bulletin applies to both and they both have the same sensor. So it looks like even if you are changing gear manually the computer is taking a reading from the sensor to know which gear you are in.

More crap from TMS, and of course they blame me. I took my bike in Thursday's afternoon for a Friday morning appointment. I called at 11 am they hadn't even looked at it.
Called at 4 pm, well we talked to BRP and they said we can work on it, so we'll start on Monday. I said I told you I needed it for a ride Saturday, ahhhh well aahhhh. You did...

So I had to pick it up and use it today now I'm going to have to take it back tomorrow so they can have it on Monday. It is always something with that shop, they just can't do things right the first time around. I have had to go to the owner numerous time just to get things done, his reply, you just can't get good employees these days.

Wow really, what a shame...

After all the testing TMS deemed my Gear Position Sensor to be functioning properly, but went ahead and changed it out anyway. Now I have a three day ride coming up and I don't know if there is any other issues with shifting. If the GPS was functioning properly then what else could cause the "E" when shifting??? Any ideas???

thanks in advance for your assistance
