As a friendly reminder, please don't put off the required routine maintenance on your Spyder. While pulling the rear wheel for a tire replacement, this is the condition I found all 3 wheel brake pads in. Needless to say, these are way beyond worn out, and all 3 rotors will now have to be changed in addition to new brake pads. This Spyder has a very loud exhaust, and the owner "thought" he heard some brake noises for a while. Given that there is only a hint of friction material left on one of the pads, I cannot believe that this bike was able to be stopped from highway speeds! This turned into a much more expensive repair than if the owner had checked on his brake wear regularly. Replacing brake pads is a pretty straight-forward job. You do not even have to remove the rear wheel to do those pads. However, when you gouge out your rotor, the rear wheel must come off. Much more labor.
