• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Doing an Oil change - extra panel removal required!

So I did an oil and filter service today. After a long ride ( Just a day ride. about 120 miles ) I did an oil and filter while the motor was hot. Pulled the Dimple plugs with no problem ( had cut the plastic away months ago). While draining I pulled the 2 panels that both the owners manual and the videos call for. So where is the oil filter canister??????? Its behind another panel ( now labeled for oil filter access). I know I must have removed this panel in the past, guess it was old farts syndrome.

How the stealers charge so much for an oil and filter is beyond me.

Kaos.

Radio style plug

While working on my :spyder2: to do the oil/filter change I removed the side panel that covers the fuel tank on the right side------- where I found a male plug that looks like it would go to an Ipod or at the end of a set of ear buds. It also had a snug fitting cover on it.

Anybody know what it is for????

:agree: I think the stealers charge what they do because they can. Not many non-dealers around that will work on SpYders and the dealer network in many cases are far and few between, so they kind of 'gotcha'. I am also surprised at how many rYders don't do their own maintenance.

You talking about the connectors in red circle? That is from GPS - USB, audio in/out and mic in. See around halfway in here...
