There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Does your dealer actually own a spyder?

I just finished reading a post from VIspyderman and it got me thinking. How many of you have dealers or service managers that actually own a spyder themselves?

Mike the owner of NordRide and Roger the service manager at NordRide both purchased PE edition spyders when they came out. Obviously NordRide is our dealership. Mike ended up selling his to a customer but Roger still has his and is considering purchasing one for his wife. Maybe that is one reason we fell we get pretty good service from them, they don't just "sell" the spyders. Also, it is a smaller dealership. Not this big showroom floor. Sales does not seem to be their main focus, I think their maintenance area is larger than their sales area. So I am wondering it there is any correlation between the people that are happy with the service and their dealerships and the size or weather or not the owner or service dept owns a spyder themselves?

No one at the dealership personally owns a spyder but I do know they take their demo for rides quite often and the Manager has tried several times to buy his wife a spyder but the salesman kept selling them out from under him LOL.

I'm very happy with my Dealers Sales and Service Department. They are both very friendly and have always been very helpfull. Even if you just need to ask a question so you can do a job yourself or if your letting them do the work.

Actually, I became an employee before I got my Spyder, because they knew they would have "problems" with me as a customer LOL. :roflblack:
The General Manager, she's 5' 0" , rydes one as well, and loves it, too.

Good question and a good point. Owning a Spyder themselves gives them some insight into the repair and maintenance of the machines. My dealer is owned by two brothers. Both own and drive Spyders, but a different one every year. They sold theirs off at the end of the riding season last year. This year, one of the brothers has a custom painted green SE5, the other a phanthom SM5.

I would like to see one of them keep the same machine to build up some miles on it, like mine will have, but I know they have thier reasons to not keep a road machine when snowmobile season comes. It must be nice to have a new one every year, but I would not do it. I already have too much time and money invested in mods to make mine the way I want it.

Not sure who owns a what at our dealer, but nearly everyone rides something(s), and many swap rides just cause they can. On our last visit, we had hung out till closing time, and they were putting away the display out front. One of their girls came out, threw a leg over one of the Spyders, started it, kicked off the brake, in gear, then reverse, backed it down a hill - all in one motion - just as smooth as someone who rydes every day.

My dealer Guy Rogers from Uxbridge Motorsports has his own Spyder. He is a very enthusiastic rider and genuinely loves the product.

I think 2 people at my dealer bought them - both in sales. One has tried to sell his a few times - he has the whole 'intro pack' stuff that dealers go (LA event jacket, Spyder I-pod, etc...) to go with it. I kind of got the impression that he bought one of the early PE models and figured he could turn some $$$$ over since he has all the dealer promo stuff to go with it. Last time I checked he wasn't getting any bytes.

I believe my dealer has sold 70+ so far - so it has been a good item for them. They still don't carry many extras - and basically NO BRP clothing.

Service has been very good so far, only had the initial problem of no oil filters. They're replacing my rear tire tomorrow - which they said was on backorder for a month. Got one from Robs Performance in 1 day. I've been first on every service the Spyder has needed - which isn't always comfortable - but they have done great so far.

My dealer won't own one due to the horrible service track record...when the staff was allowed to ride them, they were all stranded at home and the dealership lost a lot of business. The SE5s got stuck in neutral and the SM5s all shorted out.
:joke:

The sales guy at my dealer was going to buy one until he found out his wife was pregnant.... the baby is here now so I don't know what he's gonna do now.

My dealer or the employees don't own one. With only 350 miles on it and no service needed I don't have an opinion yet on service.
