• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does this look too good to be true? 2012 RT for $9100.

I don't need or want an RT. I was just on Ebay and saw this incredible deal but I think it may be a scam.

If it is not then it is the deal of the month maybe even year.....nojoke

The listing seems to have all the right information. The price is well under what we are used to seeing for listings. If you are going to go for it, just make sure the seller is legit, and the :spyder2: is for real. I would not be sending anyone payment until I could see, touch, and ride/ship home.

If there are red flags, they will emerge when you try to consummate the deal.

The description says it has the "RT Limited" embroidery on the seat, and it seems to come with all the whistles & bells. But it's not badged as Ltd. That's odd. The write-up makes it sound like the seller is the one who accessorized it, but why doesn't he give more specific info about which model RT it is?

Also, where is it located?

It's out of warranty and may have problems, then it's not a deal. Have the maintenance have not been done and are the tires shot. Without seeing it and having a test ride, would not buy. That's IMHO.

It's a Limited, and the ad says that it's available for local pick-up.
So; who's going to ask the seller where it's located? :dontknow:

Cynics . It looks good to me and at 1300 miles there should be minimal issues if any. The guy is a Helicopter pilot (owner?) I am sure if someone wanted to look at it all they would have to do is ask. He might have listed it wrong since it is his first seller item although he has 100% buyer rating.

Trust but verify.

No location, very cheap...two strikes. Just asked where it is.
Actually, I counted four strikes for possible scam listing. In addition to the two above, the pictures show a Limited model, but the title says "RT - Sport Touring". (The guy is not familiar with the various Spyder model designations.) The last strike is the occasional poor grammar, typos, and awkward formatting in the ad. The ad was quickly done. IMO, the largest factor is lack of location. Any serious seller would be more specific than "United States" WRT where the vehicle is located.

Seller has limited feedback, but all as buyer - no seller feedback. I saw the chopper picture and background graphics on the seller profile page. But if I wanted to commit eBay fraud, I might create a background with a church motif and show a picture of a guy with a clerical collar. Yeah, Dave, I'd guess that would qualify me as "cynical". ;)

Of course none of this assures that the ad is actually fraudulent. :dontknow:

There's no VIN

When I listed mine on ebay, one of the spaces on the form that you fill out for the listing is for the VIN. I would also be very skeptical about "bank transfer" -- not good to let other people know your bank routing/account numbers.

And it's all moot since the listing has ended. Maybe we'll hear someone got a good deal or scammed.
