There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Does Driver Backrest Limit Passenger Seating and Comfort

I'm thinking of getting a backrest for my recent purchased 2014 RtS Limited SE6
Can anyone tell me their experience with their rider after it is installed?

it sorta looks like it would cramp my wife's room.

Don't know

But it looks like they are sitting between the camels humps.... :roflblack: never heard any complaints ....

My wife prefers the backrest

The backrest folds forward for ease of passenger entry, and my wife has found that she likes the backrest in. Makes her feel more secure in the seat.

I suspect the answers will be varied. Essentially it depends upon what seat you have AND how large is the passenger.

It did ours

We purchased a seat from a member here with a utopia backrest. It was an easy install etc. After I got it put on our first test run was a no go. The boss was really cramped up, I just use her as my back rest;) So if anyone wants this seat it fits RTs up to 2013.

When my wife rides with me I take off my backrest to give her room,
plenty depends how big you and her are....

Driver Backrest

The BRP driver backrest definitely takes up passenger seating space on my F3L. I added the SypderPops trunk extender which adds 4-5” to passenger seat. Worked great for us. Nice product! And as someone mentioned my passenger feels more secure with the backrest.

Mine too

I suggested removing it "ONCE" :lecturef_smilie: Something like "Keep your hands off" was her response :roflblack::bowdown:

baclrest

I take it off when riding 2 up as my wife has trouble getting on and off with the backrest in place, even though it does lay front. I have left it on a few times and there is no complaining about being cramped, just her inability to lift her leg over the backrest. She usually sits in my seat then slides up to the pillion.

:agree: Sunday I was talking to my wife about this to get her input on the backrest. Her comments were exactly the same!
I will agree however with all of the ones that say the size of both of you will determine you opinion of this.

My wife does the same by sitting in my seat and sliding back. I think with her leg condition and having a little trouble lifting her leg to get off and on now, that a back rest may not be a good idea.
95% of all our riding is 2 up.

Thanks all !!!

Ideally, if there was a passenger backrest (trunk backrest) that is thinner than the OEM backrest, that should resolve a lot of issues, it may give an extra couple of inches. I tried both Utopia and BRP and do hear complaints from the boss. So, no backrest, for now anyway, until someone comes up with something.
