• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone ride naked?

OK, I don't mean without safety gear... LOL. I mean, is it OK to take the plastics off the RS and ride it like that, or will it cause problems for the airflow to radiators/engine/whatever? I'm not talking crazy long freeway rides so not worried about comfort. Just curious if the bike will be ok or if doing so can cause damage to it.

Why....?

You'll be fine have a couple friends that have, but put the panels back after a bit...it may be cooler but you may find more heat while not moving...

SethO, who is paralyzed, took his panels off before he took his RS in for service. He got severe burns riding it to the dealer. I hope you have feeling in your legs so you will know if you are getting burned.

Ann-thank you for the tip. I do have feeling in my legs thankfully, but it's good to know it can burn (ouch!). I just want to play around with making a custom nose for it and the stock panels could use a paint job (previous owner had the whole bike professionally painted but apparently the prep work wasn't great so the paint is peeling around edges) but I wanted to be able to ride it while it's getting painted or whatever. And I think it would be kind of fun for a while. But only if I don't fry the Spyder or myself! LOL

The thread title reminded me about reading once that there was a "club" that you could earn a patch from (Naked Riders Association or something like that) if you rode your bike one mile sans clothing... the rules were that you could wear footwear. HAHAHAHA

I agree about burning that memory from my brain after I looked at myself and my buddies I ride with, I think I will stay clothed! :opps:

Common site at Glencoe Campground in Sturgis between 5:00-6:00 on Tittie Row! Not as exiting as it may sound.

:D ...And here I was; looking for the videos on YouTube! :roflblack:

EDIT: If you've got the nosecone off of the bike (And all of those electrical connections unplugged...); it might make your main screen light up like a Christmas Tree! nojoke

I am glad we got the naked thing figured out. I was trying to think about a great come back. :roflblack::roflblack:

Ha ha, I'm glad you all have a sense of humor :)

Here's the bike as it currently sits. Hoping to make a custom nose for it (don't worry, either it will look very tasteful or the stock nose will go back on).

Just a thought - my seat is covered in black vinyl ....

Sure wouldn't want to jump on the bike naked on a sunny day in August. And I might have to throw the seat away after just one ryde!
