There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Does anyone know why this racket is happening

also does it do it with the engine just idling and revving it up. if so check the oil pan to see if it is dented in

From video & not hearing bike sounds like exahust leak , plugs or pipe. Any extra heat or smell (burnt) clutch would have more grind than pop. Fyi. Redneck opnion

It it only does it upon accelerating until it gets above 3500 rpm and it also is bogged down like something is holding it back. The rear tire looks like it is shuddering also while accelerating.this is an SE5 transmission. It only has 1985 miles on it too

dealer

Sounds awful - I think I'd be straight to the dealer for a warranty fix. Here's hoping it's something simple.

Interesting..!!

does seem like it is in the clutch. There have been several problems with them. Being an SE if not run at high rpm's the wear is damaging. Clutch is fully engaged only at over 3,500 rpms. I would check it out before running it anymore. If any parts let loose the whole package can go. If under warranty your covered so do it soon. Looks like it only does it under a load are there any signs lights or codes..?? :dontknow:

This sound is a similar sound you would have if one of your cylinders is not firing. While it still may be a clutch issue; I would at least first check to see if spark is getting to both cylinders. If not, you want to change the plug first. If you still do not have spark, then change the plug wires.

Double-check for any codes also; even if you do not see any warnings on the screen.

If the lack of spark is not the problem, then I would guess the problem would require a tech looking at your Spyder.

I hope for your sake it is something simple.

Best of luck, and please be sure to post your results...

My bike has always made that sound if I don't allow a 5min warm-up prior to engaging the clutch. The dealer informed me that's normal.
I do experience that occasionally but mostly during initial startup.

If your hearing the same knocking sound as in either of the videos posted, that's not normal.

Does yours idle high like in the video from MACCA? His 2011 has a high idle, 1700 is too high for the v twin. My ST idles at 13/1400 rpms. But it certainly sounds like the same issue.

Mine idles at 1350to 1400. And yes it definitely sound like (MACCA's) bike. Don't have any engine lights come on though...it seems to only do it when throttling up in gear to move. At an idle it doesn't appear to be present

no,not anything with warmup,it just started after a 70 mile ride so it was completely warmed up and started when going up an incline.

That bike is shut down, and in Limp Mode... my 2010 did the same dance as Macca's, when the throttle body issues surfaced. The next that it does that; pull up the error codes.
Good Luck!

Ok so now they find out it's not the spark plugs like they thought...now they are guessing that it could be the front injector. Well I'm pretty sure any of the rest they find is definitely gonna be Warranty Stuff. I asked them what kind of damage could have been done driving it on 1 cylinder? Oh probably nothing, but if something does happen as a result of THIS ISSUE, then your Warranty will cover that. So now it's just a game of hurry up and wait .:banghead::pray::gaah:

I am surprised they didn't pull up any codes
