• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

... that will allow you to plug your Battery Tender into a USB port? :dontknow:
The RT has ports in the top trunk that only supply recharging power for accessories: no data transmission.
Would it be possible to lug a Battery Tender Jr into one of them, and keep the battery topped-off?

No

USB port is 5V and the battery tender is 14V. Install a tender cable in the trunk if that's where you want it.

Battery Tender has many different accessories one of which is a USB. I also have a Battery Tender

accessory that will plug directly into my heated gear pig-tail that is connected directly to the battery. Very

simple then to maintain or charge battery without opening the "frunk".

Too small....

:agree: need the old cigarette ligter connection...:banghead: or as mentioned above make a new connection to a choice location....

NO.....for several reasons.

A USB port puts OUT power and is not designed or intended to have power going the other way.
And as mentioned, the voltages don't match either.
And they probably aren't hot when the ignition is off either.

AND.....my RT came with an SAE power connector already attached to the battery up in the frunk.
If yours doesn't have that it should be a simple matter to attach one there.

Just put the adapt. cables/plug for the batt. tender on the batt. posts and call it done. When I'm done with the adapter, it goes behind the liner and it does not come out until winter. You may have to notch the battery cover for the adapter, but no big deal. Mac:doorag:

Two Options: (on a 2018 RT Series)

1) Put a 12 Volt Power Port in the rear Trunk on the right side (left side has Dual USB). Run the proper sized wire to the battery.

2) Front Trunk has a wired connection point on the Left Side next to the battery that can come out from the opening that is covered with a rubber grommet, you just need to plug a 12 Volt plug into the existing wires.

Thanks, Joe.
Those are about the two options that I've boiled this down to; now I've got to decide which one to use.

Use this

Here is the connector you want. I have one of these connected to the Spyder and one on the boat battery. Most chargers come with the matching end and a set of clips.
