• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you think these will fit?

They should fit as I think they are for the standard valve (Presta...v Schrader... can't remember which is which ATM...).

I have a couple of sets we got for our pedal bikes for moonlight rides and then we never got around to doing those. Never thought about them for the Spyder. I might give it a shot.

I just looked at my spyders tires, and the way the air valve is set up it goes out to the side, that might look funny hooking those up and them sticking out like that. Bummer.

That would be great. Do it and let us know how you liked it.

They look good, easy installation, and are not too expensive. You don't have a lot to lose on this one.

THE LOOK

No one is going to notice it until it's on. But what I would be concerned about is it legal where you ride most..? ? ?......check first......Mike

Dan
I think it is!
It shouldn't be an issue...
When they build these things; they pretty much have to know how much "abuse" a valve stem can take. They also are aware that tire balance issues aren't a good thing either!
As a result; they'll build them as light as possible; minimizing the effect on other components.

Centrifugal?
Centripetal?

Valve stem lights?

I wonder if they are heavy enough to affect balance . . .

I can't see what you are talking about since it changed the item for sale, but if you are talking about lights that go on the valve stem then DO NOT DO IT. I had some on my RS that I bought at Target that were made for a bicycle that turned on when the tires spin. My mechanic freaked out, took them off, and told me NEVER to put them back on for two reasons. His first reason was that when the tire turns they look like flashing lights (did not help that they were red), and the Police do not like that. The second reason was they throw off the balance of the tire. I told him they are very light, but he said even a quarter ounce can throw off the balance of a tire.

So how do the TPMS folks get away with mounting their devices on the valve stem?

That I do not know, and in fact I have a valve cap that has a gauge (for lack of other term) as a valve stem cap that shows proper pressure. The lights that I had were a bit big, so that might have been why my mechanic did not like them. When I Google'd TPMS they were smaller than the lights I was talking about, and like I said they were made for bicycles so I guess size did not matter.
