I do not know the dates and how long it lasts.I believe it started a week or 2 back.I know it applied to the RTlimited because of what was discussed at the dealership yesterday and would presume it applies to the other RT models.Basically it reduces the advertised retail price by $1500 and then whatever the dealer wishes to reduce it by.So the RT SM5 advertised for $18,900 is now a negotiable $17,500??
When did this rebate take effect and how long does it last????

if it helps, I have bought two RT'S this year and not had a limp home nor any real issue at all on either. Never posted to that effect but like others have said, when you get on any forum, you hear from people seeking answers on specific items but that does not mean that everyone has those issues.
Keep in mind that the 2012's have all of the latest modifications and software updates. Also the lower prices are now and if all of the hype on the new 2013's is about an updated RS or a new model somewhere between an RS and an RT it will not help your desire for a touring model.
I bought a new 2012 RTS in July, got the 4 year warrantee and an out the door price of $25,000. That's good enough for me and two years from now I will have to look up the paperwork to remember what I paid for it. By the way it's a great ride with no heat, turnsignal, wheel alignment, radio running down the battery or vibration issues that I can tell. The main reason I pulled the trigger on this purchase was the four year warrantee and the fantastic tech my dealer has. He takes an entire day to set up and test drive each new Spyder and considers it a personal failure if one comes back due to anything he did or didn't do. In my opinion the dealership is as much a part of the deal as the price of the bike and I would pay more for the bike knowing it was right and not all screwed up at the start.
Well with all of the incentives out there I think I may just have to go for it. Got a very firm price of 23250 before taxes for a beautiful bronze 2012 Limited with the tan seat. Hard to believe but true. Part of me wants to see what is coming in 3 weeks but I have a sense that whatever it is is not going to give me the piece of mind that the 2012 may offer as any new model is surely going to have some kinks to work through.
Do have to say that I've been reading the forum pretty seriously for a few days and now feel that the trend of people complaining about their RTs has definitely gone down in the last couple of years which I take as a good sign.
Thanks to all here for your input. May be joining you guys on the road very shortly!
Want to thank those of you who sent me private emails both pro and con.
But one thing is pretty clear to me...with a 2012 Limited now able to be grabbed for 22k -22500 even, there is something very big coming because dealers across the country are not just clearing inventory, they are DUMPING it.
And if I had shelled out 29k for a new one a few months ago I sure would be extra pissed that the value of my Limited is now sitting down in the 18k range used. That is a 40% haircut and it really does not say a lot about BRP's interest in offering their customers a fair resale value by preserving something close to MSRP.
Great if you are a buyer for sure. Really bad if you are trying to sell one.
