• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DIY video for you

I love DIY on You Tube. I love Eric The Car Guy, Briansmobile1, and Real Fixes Real Fast. I thought, "Hey, I think I can do that." Of course I'm not too good with a camera, and I have Tinker-Toy Video editing skills. But here are some Spyder specific videos. I hope you'll forgive my newby-ness.

Oil Change without a lift (RT)

A few Accessories on the RT

How to install the HMT brake light

So, here ya go. My first foray into Net - Space.

Cheers,
John S,

John, I too use the Rhino Ramps for the front wheels, but I actually run the RT up onto them. Most of the time I'll run it up in reverse so that the ramp portion is out in front of the Spyder, and it doesn't restrict me.
After the front wheels are up on the ramp, I jack the rear using a locator pin on my floor jack, and jack at the rear hole in the underside of the frame rail. Once up, I insert blocking under the rear wheel. I never jack on the shock mount, but I have used a jack stand there once the Spyder has been lifted.

Sinkhole, thanks for that info. I wasn't certain about the rear end. I'll look into that for next time.

Lamonster, Thank you for the support. It was kinda cool to do. I think I'll do some more at some point.

John S,

very good job you was in focoss the hole time and i could see what you were doing.thanks for your trouble.:2thumbs::chat:

You put in 4qts. of oil. Doesn't it take 4.5 qts.?

Would like to see the oil filter removed.

However, thanks for a good video.

That is a very well made video. I could see everything very well. Your lighting is excellent and you pointed out exactly what you were doing. Not sure that I agree with siphoning the old oil out of the tank and not draining the engine cases but that doesn't detract from an excellently done video.

Bozzzz, The semi-Auto takes a little over 4 quarts. The manual takes 4, check your manual just to make sure.

Bikeguy, Yeah, I thought that the siphoning comment might be a little controversial. I have used this method before with a marine oil siphon and not the hand operated cylinder that you get from local parts house.

Yeah, I'm sorry that I didn't actually show the filter out. I just didn't have a camera at the time that I did the "real" oil change. I did feel bad about that.
