The trunk light (weak as it is) only works when the engine is running.

Ok... this is what I found out about my frunk light, it IS working all this time, the reason I thought the light was bad is that the lining was not installed properly and totally obstructed the light (I thought there isn't any light in the first place!) until I took off the liner to search for the 12V plug... I assume that it works something like those in cars, light up when the boot is opened regardless of whether the key is in the ignition or not.... apparently it isn't and the key must at least be on for it to work...Thanks NancysToy for the tip off...
