This is so basic ... please bear with me. I just acquired a 2014 RT Limited and the dealership installed the BRP backrest upon delivery. The backrest sits me a little too straight up. From what I've been able to find out so far, the only way to get any backward/forward adjustment on the rest is to put spacers on one end of the bracket under the seat to tilt the bracket in the direction you want. Now for the stupid question. What's the proper way to disconnect the little piston so the seat can be raised up more for easier access? I tend to get ham-handed from time to time so I didn't put too much pressure trying to pop one end off the "ball" joint it's connected to for fear of breaking something. Is that the right way to do it? Thanks.
