I ran into a couple at a restaurant this morning who were looking over my Spyder in the parking lot.
The man and his wife introduced themselves as 2014 Spyder RT owners but in the past 18 months they have only driven the Spyder 1,200 miles. They go on short Sunday drives every month or so and were amazed that I am now driving my second Spyder with over 30,000 miles on it.
They were not aware of the SL site.
They related a tale about their son-in-law who liked their Spyder so he recently bought a 2013 RT from a private owner and is finding it unbearably hot to operate, has the gas smell, etc.,etc.
I related the history of the 2013 model and urged them to tell their son-in-law to get it to a dealer for the recall upgrade. They were not aware of the problems and didn't even realize that the engine in the 2013 was different from the 1330 engine in their Spyder. In fact they didn't know too much about Spyders at all. They bought from a Texas dealer who apparently didn't give them much after the sale information.
I guess there are buyers out there who don't do any research but maybe my directing them here will help out a bit.
