• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Both the fuel level and engine temp gauges on my 2015 RT have been disabled in favor of using the digital display on the screen. Consequently I want to remove both and replace them with something useful and I'd appreciate suggestions. USB ports? Volt meter? Push to eject button?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Gauges

:coffee: My vote would be a 'Push to Pass' button. Second would be A button 'You SEE Me' so that Drivers Will NOT pull out in Front of Spyders.........:yes::yes:........

I put in a Volt meter I got off ebay. It is 52 mm in size. I think it was under $25 but I don't remember now. Just ordered a 12 volt socket for the other side from JT's machine shop

My '14 RTS came from the PO with a Voltmeter on one side, and an oil pressure gauge on the other. The USB ports are in the middle of the buttons on the "dash". Sometimes buying used has it's advantages, lots of stuff I don't have to add. On the down side, there's stuff I've removed - XM Radio, SMH10, flag holders. And now it looks like I'll need a new front caliper.

I didn't get fancy. I used a 2 port USB on one side to charge Sena etc and a 12V outlet on the other for my GPS. A clock would require separate power from the battery. I just used the gauge power, works fine.

If I could get a couple of James Bond missile launchers those would be very handy.....

Appreciate the feedback everyone. I ride with an Apple Watch so I’m not sure if I’ll put in a clock or not. The dash clock as everyone has noted must run on some sort of “there are 400 days in a year” cycle it runs so fast.

choices, choices

A trip to the autoparts store is always fun.... volt meter, altimeter, usb/lighter, clock, oil pressure are some that come to mind....

This prompts a question from me. I'm not good with a wrench as has been well documented in some of my other posts, but oil pressure gauge vs the warning light on the panel. Is the gauge redundant?

Ah yes...many years ago we referred to those lights that came on when it was to late as "idiot lights"....a guage would let you know your oil pressure and condition. Of course now they do have the added feature of shutting you down when the light comes on to save you....volt meters let you know how your chargings is going and your consumption of said volts. Check out others you would like to watch in action.

Easy suggestions. What would be most useful to YOU? USB ports, voltmeter, compass, thermometer, oil temp gauge.......?

Not sure, seems like a USB port could always be handy as I run my sena’s paired to my phone but I also carry a spare battery for it. I guess I might be leaning towards a voltmeter for the other one.

I've always wanted to install a nice RPG system with a dash mounted igniter. You know. For clearing out those pesky slow drivers blocking the roadway...
