Digital gauge accuracy confirmed

I watch the digital gauge but am wondering if anyone has used a LED somewhere on the dash for the low fuel light ? I find it very hard to see in the cluster. I wish the cluster was angled up a bit more. I have seen the LEDs used for turn signals so I imagine one could be used for the file light as well.

My bike gets 150 per tank and work is 50 miles round trip. If I had any brains at all I'd fill up after a couple of trips but I have no sense at all so the I the "Kramer" every week. Actually put in 6 gallons the last time. ray:

Back on 12/1/11 I put in 5.9 gallons ... I remember it very well ... high speeds and incredible head winds (22.9 mpg) ... and, once the last bar disappeared, sweating the last few miles all the way to the pump.

I think it is more accurate on gas and temp.

My old man, who was a wise old master mechanic, once explained to me that over a month or a year, you put the same amount of gas in a vehicle whether you filled it at half empty or at the bottom of the gauge. I never forgot that. Why push it to the max? :dontknow:

You may put the same amount of gas in, but you can go further between fill ups, something really needed on the spyder

Sorry Bro but there's no way. I have over 100K on Spyders and I've never even come close to that kind of mileage.

I think you could get 200 with reasonable driving and conditions. However, I am not willing to prove it :roflblack:

Yesterday with mostly back roads and speed limit driving my gas light didn't come on until 174 miles.....took 5.2 to fill it up.:dontknow:

I can't disagree in the least, but the range is what it is and I won't chance running out of gas just to save me an extra stop. I seldom run clear down to the light...and then only when I know exactly where the next few gas stations will be. I'd love to ride 200-250 like I can on my BMW, but it just ain't gonna happen.

That would be disappointing and a PITA if trying to 200. Maybe if i turned off the air conditioner? :roflblack:
