• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Digital dash

Have a new :spyder2: 14 rts with just over 300 miles on it. The digital dash is flickering diffrent shades of grey while riding. Have checked the battery connections and the ground strap under the seat. Any ideas would be appriciated. Guess if nothing else ill let it go to the 600 mile check up.

:agree: It's 3,000; not 600 miles...
This flickering isn't the dash trying to change to it's low-light configuration, and back; is it? :dontknow:

Dont know if it is trying to go to low light or not. it was in bright sun light both times it happened. Yes i know that the break in is 3000 miles that is why i said 600 mile check up. it recommends in the manual and the dealer does to to have everything checked at 600 miles. And i hate to say it but just about everything you ever buy vehicle wise always say to check it after install and used no matter how long it is supposed to last.

On what page of the manual does it say that? I can't find it.

Maybe some semantics issues here?

The 2014 RT's are to have the first service/break in service/initial checkup at 3000 miles. The 600 mile first service (etc.) applies to 998 Rotax Engine models at this point in time.

The color change for day/night will cause the cluster to go from white to orange for night service.

Shades of gray sounds like an electrical glitch to be looked at by the dealer.

There is a ground for the cluster. Only problem is, you have to take the whole front end off. I suspect your problem is in the cluster itself. Either a loose connection on one of the boards or in the connector to the cluster.

Considering..!!

your first service is at 3,000 miles I would take it in and have them check it out. If it is a connection problem letting it go may cause you other problems you really don't want. Call them and set up an appointment this is not the first I have heard of this and it may be an easy fix...

My dash on my 2014 has faded to black from the top down in direct sunlight on a hot Vegas day. As soon as I got back to speed it came back. I was stuck in a traffic jam for an hour with the sun shining directly on the dash and the air temp was upwards of 105.

Digital black out

Pull down that dumb plastic little safety check card that's installed in the dash and it will shade your digital dash and keep it from going black out. That little card is handy for something after all. I use it when I have to park in the direct sun light.
