• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

did anyone see the plane crash yesterday

Saw the video played several times on the late news last night. It was amazing to me that there were actually some survivors.

Flying is supposed to be the safest form of transportation, but I always get a little frazzled every time I fly somewhere.

i don't fly because i worked on runway lighting at both LAG and Kennedy airports and i saw all the emergencies that they had. now if a light bulb is out or the pilot has a headache it is considered an emergency, but after seeing fire trucks and ambulances chasing planes down a runway, 13 times one day, i refuse to fly

How many people die in plane crashes every year? Varies, but let's say dozens to a few hundred. Sometimes the hundreds are at one time, that's what makes it news.

How many people die on US roads every year? 35-40,000. Just one or a few at a time. No news there, unless it's a spectacular wreck on snowy roads or in fog.

The most dangerous part of aviation is driving to the airport. The part that sucks is the airlines have crammed too many seats in the fuselage, and cut flights to raise their profit margins. That's the part of air travel that I hate, not the flight itself.

Gotta say..!!

it has to be something special for me to fly...much rather drive my own equipment. Very sad the loss of lives, they need to look into transportation in that part of the world....:yikes: Has the Bermuda triangle moved...??

Watch that video again, looks like the wing clips that van. What are the odds your driving down the highway, and a planes wing slices through your car?:yikes:

I would rathe ride then fly as well. But not always possible. Two kinds of wrecks make the news and for a while afterwards. School buses are the safest means to get from one point to another, but a crash in which no body is hurt is all over the news. I drove one. Air planes are in the same boat.

I flew as a USAF Courrier for three years on all kinds of planes. Nothing like beover the "Med" in a C-130. Two engines out and another overheating. After we landed the crew informed me, there were a reserve crew from GA. They worked for Martin company and had actualy flown on one engine with th small weight we had on board. I would felt a lot better if they had said, that in the air. As couriers, we got to be in the cockpit on a lot flights, makes a huge difference. Need to add this was thirty + years ago

Hard to imagine what the car driver thought when the plane came into view. Those poor folks on the plane. And there were survivors. Amazing

The wing did clipped the van, it was a taxi and surprisingly the driver and passenger survived! Amazing that there was spas many survivors as there was.
