• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We love to travel in our RV, towing the Spyder in a trailer. We pick a spot to camp for a week and then use the Spyder to day trip the area driving scenic road and check out cute small towns.

This summer our favorites for this type of trip were:
The Door County Peninsula in Wisconsin
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore/Taverse City in Michigan
and Manitoulin Island in the North Channel in Ontario

We are retired and free to travel the county. We will be wintering in Apache Junction, AZ. What similar destination would you recommend for us for this winter or next summer?

Summertime: check out Chatauqua Lake in southwestern New York and ride the Chatauqua Belle steamboat tour. One of only four steam sternwheelers operating in the whole USA. Beautiful area to explore.

RV'ing

I would highly recommend the Black Hills of SD. I was there for the 3 wheel trike rally in July and had a blast . The scenery there is fantastic, national parks, state parks, and monuments. Also the Iron Mtn road and Needles Hwy are great roads for the Spyder.

Not sure where in Wisconsin you are from, or if you've ever done it, but my wife and I like taking a week or so to ride and explore the entire SW quadrant of your beautiful state. We don't have an RV, though, so we pick and use a hotel/motel as our base of operations. There are some off the beaten path areas near the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers that are gorgeous. You could also dip down into and ride the Stockton-Galena, IL areas. The ladies usually like the shopping in Galena and, once again, the off the beaten path riding is quite scenic.

Grand Canyon, Southern Utah, Death Valley and Las Vegas are just North of you when your in AZ

Tortilla Flats

. We will be wintering in Apache Junction, AZ.

The drive to Tortilla Flats in a rental car was beautiful if not a bit hair raising... would love to have the opportunity to be on the :spyder2: to get a good look over the "hills" or "death drop" depending on your constitution :) Day trip from Apache Junction I would certainly recommend it.

RV

Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina is right on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean. The area is all islands and flat lands. Small town living. Its 42 miles from Savannah, Georgia and 65 miles from Charleston! SC. Both have allot of history

Use the National Parks as your guide

As the title indicates. Get your senior pass for the National Parks and let them be you guide for where to go. MeAsWe (my SO) have completed 3 National Park tours for the IBA and on the purchase of the RT-S we started number 4. Information on the Iron Butt Association National Park Tour is >>>> http://www.ironbutt.com/ridecerts/getdocument.cfm?DocID=11 No better way to the see the country. Careful those Cancellation Stamps are quite addicting. A good place that shows you where they are are is http://www.parkstamps.org/

We winter in Casa Grande, AZ. A few suggestions for rides are Jerome from Prescott (be prepared for 127 curves in 12 miles), Strawberry to Payson area, Tombstone to Bisbee area, Superior to Globe and Winkleman, and Globe to Show Low. Just to name a few. We just returned from Spyder Rendezvous and had some great ryde in that area of WI.

The Finger Lakes Region of New York State, the Adirondacks, and you should think about hitting Spyder Quest, next year.

we did the same about a week before the rally. 32 days on the road with rv and spyder doing national forrests and parks in 9 states. we definitely enjoyed the black hills of sd and the rides you mentioned. we also liked the northern wyoming/montana border with the chief joseph and beartooth scenic byways into red lodge montana. they were magnificent as well!!
