• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone had the" D.E.S.S. Key code "show up on the F3 spyder models?

If so please post on this thread, I am curious.

My new module is on the way.

I can still get it to reset - BUT I just know that on a long ride 100s of miles from a Dealership it will give up the "Ghost".

No hassle from Dealership or BRP. Just need to wait forever being on the Left Side of the USA. :D
When the fix is made will post the Part #, but expect it to be what has been posted previously here.

Going to pick up the bike in a few. Module was not replaced. Having them print out the brp case number in case I have problems again.

AJ, What are the steps that you use to reset your spyder?
Can your dealership put a rush on the "New Module" so you are not spyderless?

Looking forward to seeing your post of the Part #.

TNpapa- I got mine started with 4 or 5 quick turn on and offs without letting the bike reboot per this thread.

Good Luck! Did you pay for reprogramming the keys?

Reprogramming the keys is under warranty, the second time that I got the D.E.S.S. my dealership changed the module, and reprogrammed the keys, and I did have to pay, because it is under warranty.

Not Spyderless, still use every day since once it's cleared it will not reoccur for months.

To reset, if not interference from outside source, I've had to remove the positive lead from the battery and touch it to ground.

As for "Rush" . . . the word is not in the French vocabulary :p

I wonder if given the difference between the RT display and the F3 display my bad key error isn't the same problem as the d.e.s.s error.

No charge Deanna, just without my ride from Monday until today. Had them print out the brp case number.

AJ, I had the module replaced twice with in a month last year. ( July first time, Aug. second time).

So you did not try " Turning the ignition on/off immediately, do not let the system shut down for 4 to 5 cycles"? That is what my dealership recommended to me when I had the D.E.S.S. Key code show up.

I think "Rush" should be in the French Vocabulary, then you are not spyderless.

The next time you get the bad key error on your F3, would you post a picture on this thread?

The module is under warranty, take a picture and show it to your dealership, then your dealership can not say it did not happen. Also, on this tread their is some excellent info for you take to your dealership. Keep us posted on what happens. Deanna

If you get the D.E.S.S Error again( which I hope you don't) please post on this thread.

I would like to keep this thread going so new/and current spyder owners know where to look for excellent info. that I/and other spyder owners have posted on this thread. That is good to know that your dealership printed out the brp case # for you. Deanna

The dealer just called and BRP is going to replace the entire D.E.S.S module this time. I guess last time they just replaced the antenna.
The D.E.S.S. module is under warranty". Do you have any warranty left on your spyder?

Would post the part # of the new D.E.S.S. module?

How many miles do you have on your spyder?

What year is your spyder?

Will your dealership reprogram your keys?
Have the your dealership put in a switch( ignition switch)?

I had the D.E.S.S module replaced twice on my 2014RTS-SE6 within a month apart. ( the first one replaced in July 2015, and the second replaced on Aug. 2015, and the dealership reprogrammed the both keys, which I posted on this thread.
Were you stranded when you got the Key code?

Good Luck!
Keep Us posted on what happens.

The quick on/off never worked for me.

New DESS module and ignition (part numbers as you previously described) have arrived at Dealership. Took @ 8 days from Quebec. Installation scheduled for Friday Morning.
I assume (never a good idea - lol) that since I am receiving a New Ignition also, that I will get a new set of keys, nes pas :)

Why did it take 8 days from Quebec to get you?

With your "New Ignition" your dealership should reprogram your keys( the originals) to your "New Ignition". When I had my 2nd D.E.S.S. module replaced, and my first switch replaced my dealership reprogrammed my keys and gave me a new trailer lock.

Let me know if you get a "New set of keys" since you are getting a new Ignition.

Keep us posted!

8 days from Quebec to Las Vegas seems acceptable.
Beside the only thing that comes and goes quickly to Las Vegas is MONEY! :p

Thanks for the info on the key, but that kind of bothers me.
If the same key is used with a new ignition switch , then that says to me ALL Spyder RTs a Keyed alike and only the DESS module chip is different????
Confused.
And if they only reprogram the key and the teeth are the same why do you need a new trailer lock?
More confused.

Obviously I'm missing something or can't see the forest for the trees :)

Thank Deanna
