• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DESS ERROR

It happened again. Stranded in Pennsylvania with the dreaded DESS ignition error symbol. I have a 2014 RT-S. The dealer acknowledges they don't really know what the cause is.

Googling search shows many Spyder owners have suffered the same. Has BRP done anything to fix this problem? Swagman.

It would be bike by bike. Most of us have not experienced that issue.

There is a post by DEANNE at least 20 pages relating to the problem along with other posts here.
Do a SEARCH!

Yes DESS module and or ignition switch.

Read the thread posted above.

Turn key on and off a few times and or leave for awhile come back and try to start bike. Get home and have repaired ASAP>

Oh yeah !!!

There is a lot to read about it here. Once it fails the best thing is to have the dealer replace the switch and module. Otherwise it will only get worse. I would make sure they change both...:lecturef_smilie:

Wish I were closer, could have you up and running in less than 10 minutes and never see that error again. Truly wish more dealers would allow owners to just turn this defective system off.

I agree. Best thing to do is have the DESS disabled. Everytime I see these posts, I look to see where they live. I can disable it, but Maryland is too far.

Also have the dealership open up a case with BRP. Deanna

I was having the same thing happening more and more frequent. I purchased a DESS Module from Cheap Motorcycle Parts, Part #710004916. I replaced that and have never had the DESS Key again. If you don't have warranty it is not hard to change yourself.

getting my second one

dropped it off at the dealer and waiting to get it back just as well haven't had time to ride any way.it better be back for Deadwood .
