• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Today at Brewers Cycles in Henderson, NC. We're going to see what the 2014 is all about. Better shut this thing down and get ready to go.

Awesome!

Every customer who comes in for a service on their RT Spyder I ask if they would like to take a test ride on a new 2014. I go over some new features, and get them on the bike asap. Not one negative thing has been said about the new RT, the feedback from consumers (especially prior RT owners) has been awesome!

Be safe and have fun on your test ride! Bring your wallet, info, cash and haggle skills:D

Well you can't say he didn't warn you :roflblack: Good luck resisting the pull of the 2014 :f_spider: I am afraid you will be bitten. :yikes:

Well, we did it!!!!

I took the demo ride as did Bruisersbaby. They gave us 20-30 minutes. BB had not driven an SE before so we went over it with her before the ride and we had comm so we could keep in contact on the ride. Took her about 2 minutes to get the hang of it. I have to say, the difference is phenomenal. The '14 is quieter, quicker, smooth shifting, and much smoother on the road. The seat seems to be more comfortable. Oh, the brakes! They'll stop on a dime and give you 20 cents back. They'll make you pucker if you stomp on 'em. I drove the black RTS and she had the Cognac RTS. We both said we could get used to the SE. They didn't have any SM6s so we couldn't compare them. The dealer had several 2014s on the floor to choose from.

Now for the real news. We walked away. That's right. No new Spyder for us. As much as we wanted to, we can't do it at this time. I owe too much on my 2012 RTS and she doesn't want to give up her 2010 right now. The sales people were nice, they weren't pushy at all. So when we are ready, we'll be back there to talk.

They did take my '12 in for a BUDS check, it hasn't had one since new. No issues and the tech and I spoke at length about Spyders and service. He did say they don't run across many people who do their own work. He reset the service intervals, checked everything on the BUDS list, reset an old code and remarked how well it was taken care of. All that for free. This dealer also has a bike wash.

Almost forgot. The demo team from BRP was pretty nice too. And we met some really nice folks who also have Spyders. But then, that's nothing new.

Met doublenoughtspy from Henderson, NC. Y'all will get to meet him at SF. And we met some of his partners in chaos as well.

So goes the saga. Sorry team. All bets are off.

Thanks for posting about your experience. The upside is that you have two :spyder2:'s that you know and are happy with. We sure like our 2010 and 2011's.

Seems you're happy with what you have and that's all that matters!
Rumor has it that they will be making more!

Thanks!!!

Bruiser, thanks foe the post. I will be heading to Brewer (possibly) for a Laser Alignment in a couple of weeks. Nice to see that all went well for you....even though you practiced "restraint" in not buying the 2014. I only hope that I can do the same. Thanks, again, for the post.
