• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Delay in starting procedure

Anyone else bothered by the starting delay? Real irritating when you're in a hurry. I try to remember to turn on the key long before I am ready to leave. Head a long delay at a road construction so I turned the Spyder off. Traffic suddenly started moving and I held up traffic waiting for the start process. Embarrassing

Definitely something you have to think about. I usually turn the key before I put on helmet and gloves. Ready to fire up by the time I'm through. I too wish there was a way to bypass, but I guess nanny needs time to get ready!

6 TO 8 SECONDS .......Holy Smoly...................and turn the Spyder off.......but turn the KEY back on...................jmho.....MIke

i also dislike the delay, but have learned to start the bike b4 i am ready to jump on and leave. would be great if someone can take it out of the software

That is the time I use to do a quick check over, put the helmet and the gloves on. When we are both riding we do a light and com. check.

As some have mentioned, I turn the key on when I walk up to Mr. Cognac. I put on my jacket, helmet, gloves, start him, arrange my privates and go. Just remember to tlurn on the key when you walk up to your scoot. As it is water cooled, I don't shut it off in traffic. Try it, you will get used to it quickly.

Use the Kill Switch, leave your ignition on, lights will go out. When ready to star, hit the ignition switch.
Use this only in a traffic situation.

That starting delay

So there I was, just robbed the bank with enough money to pay off the spyder, waiting for it to start.....;)

Depends..!

seems they are all different. The RT's are the worse though I think the 14/15's are better. My RS is pretty quick and usually starts right up if I shut it down in traffic or stop for gas. But I do hate waiting for the RT's to get going...:roflblack::roflblack:

The delay is a royal pain in the butt !!!
However, it's not just my Spyder, but also in my 2014 Silverado. All the controls have some sort of a delay......whether it's the temperature knob, fan speed or radio....it seems that they all need "permission" from the onboard computer.
Give me back my base model Jeep Wrangler.....simple, uncomplicated, and lots of FUN !!!

Yeah, it's just one of those annoying things that I've had to get used to. As many of the others have posted, I've learned to turn the key on before putting on my helmet, and mounting the :spyder2:. It's definately not a good getaway vehicle for a bank robbery :yikes:

there is one other delay that really bothers me, it is the 60 seconds i have to wait to respond to another post

Get an F3, they don't have the delay. Otherwise you will have to learn to deal with it.

It's interesting to note the F3 does not have the starting delay????????? If they can do it with the F3 it sounds like BRP or any good techie person can bypass the delay procedure... Hope someone figures it out soon as I am an impatient person???????????
