• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Deer vs Spyder

Glad you guys are OK my wife want 3/4 helmets also to catvh a tan yup ok i said put the full face on and jump on is what she got

The Big Man was watching you and has other things for you to do. Glad the injuries were not life threatening. Here's to a speedy recovering and many more "pleasant" riding miles.

I tried on a full face modular bell helmet on yesterday while dropping off my Spyder for repairs. I have a problem with neck pain while on long rides, wouldn't the full face add to that with the extra weight? I did go up from a half to a 3/4 when we bought our spyder.

There is no reason that your RSS can't be fixed and enjoyed again. Don't let anyone tell you that it is totaled. Make them install the necessary parts to let you triumph, instead of letting the deer win. Get full face helmets and know in your heart that you didn't let this stop you. I'm praying for your recovery.

Having it totaled might work out to his advantage... it did for me. I got within $1,000 of what I paid for my Spyder.. which was 4 years old and had 75,000 miles on it.
But I doubt this would be a case of being totaled.. unless the frame is bent as mine was.

:agree: IF the front nose of the frame has been tweaked... I'd push for a total loss.

But; the front suspension still looks (to our VERY untrained eyes!), to be straight.

deer

another deerslayer. glad to hear you made it thru. it gets better and you are blessed. good luck. deer slayer milt

Get well soon, it's a bummer when this kind of thing happens.. I know I hit a very large dog a Mastive while
on my GoldWing about 10 years ago at about 50mph did not go down but made a mess of the bike and the dog
didn't fair to well but lived...
Rest Up get well and get back on, but go buy modular or full face helmets.....
Dave

Spyder won and riders survived! I have fractures face and wife has major road rash on face and concussion. Mistake to let her talk me into 3/4 helmets, but overall ok.

I know we are going astray here but there was a guy who mounted 2 machine guns into the fog light ports on his RS. I can't find a picture of that Spyder but it looked pretty cool. Probably work better than Deer Whistles.

Open season???

After reading this thread and one other on the subject of "deer wistles" I come to a simple conclusion:

OPEN SEASON ON DEER.

In some parts on the country there is a serious overpopulation of them. "We" have seriously restricted deer hunting in many locals and of course hunted thier preditors close to extinction. More Winchester 30-30's !!!

And less=======
Kaos

The answer is longer hunting seasons and larger quotas. Deer have become vermin. Allow hunters to harvest as many as needed. The meat can be donated to shelters and other organizations helping the poor and needy.
nj has that now with unlimited doe tags. we still have 44 to 46 deer per square mile in the northern part of the state.nojoke

I've been thinking about getting a modular or full face helmet from Arai or Shoei but didn't know if I wanted to spend the money. Thanks for helping make the right decision.
