• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I did ride mine in too work Friday! Morning temps were 52, with the occasional cooler spots (low areas between hills), daytime ride, was windy, not too bad though, think it was 64 or so in the high temps, had a good day! Today's temp was brrrrrrr right at 30°s, and up too 48°, almost a day for riding, I think the sweet spot was at 1. p.m. Sun was nice and warm, wind was down! (and working on a project for Spyders, hope to have that finished real soon, if not, by riding season for sure!)

took a short ride today doing what I should have done a week and a half ago, full tank of gas and fuel stabilizer, parked in garage next to the snow blower.

Funny, I was thinking about exactly this earlier this morning. I seems to me as well that there has been a big decline in postings recently. Maybe folks just don't have much to say these days, or have run out of things to bitch about. But cheer up!! Very soon the dreaded "white snot" will arrive here in the Northeast and me can bemoan how long it will be before our Spyders come out of hibernation.
the "White Snot has arrived in the Northeast. I am not on this site @ 4:20 in the morning,( Tuesday to Friday) I am usually headed to work at that time. On the other hand ( days off I usually check the site mid morning or in the afternoon).

I am in the same boat as you, as when I can get the spyder out of hibernation! Deanna

I've been making an effort to get on the site more than I have in the past but I don't post a lot. I'm lucky to be able to ride year round although it does get cold here in the panhandle (not as cold as the northern regions) ride safe. Dale

I was riding thru Saturday and planned on riding to work today, but the rains/snow came this morning so that put that off. Maybe tomorrow.

Im busy prepping my Spyder for next season. She's naked as a jaybird right now. All Tupperware is off and in pieces. My wife told me yesterday I better know how to put it all back together (me too:yikes:). Installing some lights, USB ports, F4 windshield, GPS mount and wiring, painting a few things I don't want silver (anyone who knows me, I hate chrome and silver). But I'm looking forward to homecoming and spyderquest. Might even give Maggie Valley a go if I can get off work. No spyderfest though. I may make that an every 3-4 year event.

It would be nice to have a more even climate up here. Too hot in the summer & far too cold in the winter.

Winter riding is a mute point as, by law in Quebec, we have to have snow tires on our 2 & 3 wheeled motorcycles from Dec 15 through to March 15 if we want to use them on public roads.

That's preposterous! Snow Tires on Motorcycles and Spyders. I am sitting here trying to get a visual on that. Snow tires without studs are pretty useless. At least if you get snow you could Snowmobile. I always enjoyed that the two times I lived in Edina and Prior Lake MN. I probably enjoyed the Snowshoe we drank at every pitstop we made more. (Snowshoe is half peppermint Schnapps and half Christian Brothers Brandy) We used it for self preservation to keep from freezing to death. Most of our Snowmobiling was done at night. Nothing like a cool crisp night with a full moon.

Rode to the IMS on Sunday and put my overnight cover on my ST. Wasn't raining when I got there, however when I left about 12:30 it was sprinkling pretty good. The 710 out of Long Beach was gridlocked. I got off on PCH and connected to 405 south via Long Beach Blvd. And I when I got into Orange County it was dry, no rain. I saw on FB some pictures a few hours later where I picked up PCH on the 710 at that point was flooded.

Near 70 on Saturday and was able to get in a ride. About a foot of snow and 28 on Monday. Guess I have to plug in the battery tender and cover her up till about April...damn! Just bought a red/black RT-S with about 5800 miles on it. Unfortunately was only able to get about 600 miles before the snow hit. Love it so far. Thanks to all of you folks on this forum I have learned a lot and have quite a list of farkles (laser alignment, sway bar, tires, seat, windshield) to name a few.

The only problem I have with the RT (due to some diabetic nerve issues) is the brake pedal. I did put on the larger pad which helps but seems to get in my way. I am going to try the extension sold by Refined Cycle. Has anyone used this extension along with the larger pad? I'm thinking this will move the pedal far enough forward and in a better position for me.

Before I do any farkles I want to see and demo the new F3 limited. It's going to be a long winter.

My Cuz, Chuck in Zanesville Ohio just turned over 100K on his 2014 RT!:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: Amazing!
He is still riding......we are too [we're a little further South; in Texas] went out for a ride yesterday, a little chilly at 66 degrees though, LOL.
Y'all come on down and RYDE!

WOW, 100k miles, impressive.

Joe

It was 84 here today. Had to take advantage of it. Nice ride to Panama City Beach. Red flags out which means no swimming. The Spyder is like a magnet. People come around asking questions about it. Most people tell me they love it. I didn't see any other Spyders, about 8 HD's. Anybody out there that can tell me how to download a picture?
