Last year didn't go very well. We had a good group but I had to take off and rescue a Spyder with a flat tire. By time I got back the thing was pretty much over and half the folks had left already. :sour:

I screwed up on the drink situation by putting most of the drinks in a toolbox instead of a cooler. :opps: I wasn't there to tell anyone that and I still have drinks in there to this day. nojoke

If it wasn't for Matt from BRP and a few others taking over it would have been a complete disaster.

I got a email from Marc at Spydertalk that said they don't have anything planned for Tuesday or Thursday if I was going to do the cookout again. When I planned the last one there was nothing going on till after I planned the BBQ and there was some talk that I was trying to hijack their event with my BBQ. That wasn't the case at all and that's one of the reasons I'm still on the fence about having it this year.:dontknow:

If I go ahead and have it this year it would most likely be on Thursday and if someone breaks down they'll have to make their own arrangements or wait till I'm done cooking for everyone. Of course they are welcome to use my truck and trailer. :doorag:

The reason I'm asking is I already have folks asking me if I'm going to do it again this year. It was great meeting everyone and seeing all the cool Spyders. So knock me off the fence one side or the other.

I am all for it and promise, you will not need to come rescue me this time. Sorry about that. Really. The roads taken to get to your house was some of the best I have ever driven, I am all for having a cook out and don't mind helping out anyway I can this year since I fizzeled last years.

That's how much we enjoyed 2008 BBQ as it turn into something that’s becoming legendary in your house :2thumbs: See you all in 9.24.09.

We probably won't be able to make Gatlinburg this year, however my wife and I had a great time last year at your place. I would recommend you do it again, especially if Marc is trying to work with you on a day and time. Go for it!

I didn't make it last year, but I am planning to come this year. From all I've read, everybody had a good time. I would like to see you do the BBQ again this year. I'll be glad to help if needed. I vote to push you off the fence toward the side of having it.

Juice :2thumbs:

Lamont, my wife and I really enjoyed visiting your hacienda last year and would certainly like to return if you do decide to hold this event again in 2009.

Cheers,

Bruce

I cannot make it this year either (at least I now have a spyder) since I am getting married the prior weekend. No offense but it is probably not my wife-to-be's dream honeymoon.

For 2010 though i will leave my calendar open for sure. I will even contribute some homebrewed beer and time to help out with preparing and cleaning up if needed.

I am currently planning on making it to the Spyders in the Smokies so if you do happen to have the BBQ i'll do what i can to help out.

By golly if I ride all the way from Vancouver, I am having a bbq at Lamonts house whether he or anyone else is there or not.:popcorn:nojoke:D

I hope you lean towards having the BBQ and Thursday is a great time to have it. We couldn't make it last year but have reservations this year at Twin Creeks RV Resort in Gattlinburg. We are looking forward to seeing all the Spyders and doing some scenic riding too. Hope you have the BBQ!!!

If I do you're going to have to put a shirt on so I don't feel so puney.:D:joke:

I'm not sure if we are going to be able to make Gatlinburg this year. I may come solo as Deb probably can't get that much time off of work (LA trip, Kenya mission already set). Even so, I might attend your BBQ as one of the longest "lunch runs" in the short history of SpyderLovers. I vote YES to the BBQ.

You guys were both a big help last year. :doorag::bowdown:
