• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealers Oil Changes

Mike,

I don't know what the issue is with the dealer & don't know who the dealer is.

Your post subject is 'Dealers Oil Change' & you complained about the price for the 600 miles service & two hours labor. You do realize that the 600 miles service is far more than just an engine oil & filter change, right? They also inspect, adjust, clean, lube, replace or service the following:

  • Oil Tank Strainer= I doubt Most dealers do this!
  • Transmission Oil Filter
  • Engine Coolant= How hard is it to check?
  • Fault Codes
  • Spark Plugs= I doubt they take the plugs out and look at them!
  • Drive Belt
  • Front Suspension Arms= Did you see evidence (Grease Residue) That shows they greased them?
  • Parking Brake
  • Storage Compartment Latches, Key Barrels & Hinges

I know the spark plugs are a lot of work & they very likely had to remove the frunk to lube the front suspension.

See you at the Georgia Spyder Riders potluck @ Mountain MotorSports in Conyers @ 11:00 this Saturday!

Don,t wanna seem untrusting but I would BET many dealers just change your Oil , Look things over in a general way, and Check your codes and see if your abusing the engine!
I prefer to do it myself and KNOW its been done!!!

Sarge your not kidding, I took my spyder for a DSS recall.....because I don't trust them I scratched up the one on my Spyder so I would know if they changed it......When they saw this they got so PI**ED off they added an extra quart of oil ( which wasn't asked for / or needed )......Mike
