• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealers arm-twisted to take inventory?

Walmart did this to Rubbermaid and put them into bankruptcy. The cost of the material to make their items went way up due to oil increases - all the other retailers understood and agreed to the increase - except Walmart. Walmart refused and said they would pull all Rubbermaid items off the shelf - which they did and Rubbermaid went belly up.

This is one of many things they have done like this - it is their way of doing business every day - which is why they will never get a dime of my money - ever.
The Man Who Said No To Walmart

Support your local Snapper dealer.:2thumbs:

This is not good at all, one of our favorite places to ride to. Hopefully with Craig's ingenuity he will figure some thing out.

This is a two way street also. Take Walmart for example they pull so much weight in the market that I learned by personnel example when I did some work for P&G that Walmart wanted a two cent cost reductions from P&G which equals some dollar amount in volume that made the P&G upset. Walmart told them two cent reduction or we will stop retailing your products. Walmart got their way, and work continued. I was told by one of P&G's marketing people it was not a big deal, and would not effect his P&G bonus because P&G was raising the price they sold products to other retailers to cover the difference that Walmart got a discount for. What I learned is the little guy get screwed every time.:yikes:

Sorry to hijack the thread, but this is a sore spot. Walmart did the same thing with Levi's that is why they are not made in the USA anymore. That is one of many reasons we will not shop at Walmart. Stepping off soapbox now.

Add me to the "No Walmart shopping" list. Love the article and the JibJab clip draboo. Its ridiculous to read that a VP in Walmart uses cheap lawn chairs for his office furniture.

I hope our dealer can survive these quotas. I don't like to think of the options of going to the other local dealership which is basically a "Walmart of powersports" or having to travel farther for parts and service.

There are three dealers in Oregon - two in the Portland/Salem metro area, and one 200 miles away in Central Oregon (Bend) - two of these are multi dealers, and one is a CanAm only dealer - guess which one is on the edge of Banko??

The CanAm only dealer had a solid floor, below which he wouldn't cross, the other metro dealer didn't see a reason to cross that line either, but the little dealer in Bend beat prices by over $1K - guess where I put my money?

All the dealers seemed to have the same knowledge base, but the other two dealers could spread the overhead over a wide range of products. Given the price/performance structure of the BRP product line, I can not see the ability of the line to carry the overhead of a decent dealer - one where you don't have to book a service visit 4 MONTHS in advance, like my BMW dealer.

This is not the market to be playing those games.

My dealer told me that BRP told him how much inventory he had to take or BRP would not give them the factory discounts to move the older inventories.

He may drop them also. This sucks!
