I have 2 experiences to share.
I bought my RTS unit from a Dealer in WV at full price. Was told that if BRP finds any dealer discounting
New Units, they could have their License pulled :lecturef_smilie

no clue if thats true) so he couldn't offer any discounts on actual units, but everything else was free game & up to the individual dealer. Here's my breakdown for the RTS as of my purchase date of
May 26 2010.
Unit $26,499.
Doc Fee $50.
Tax $1,593.
Title Fee $9.
Lien Fee $5.
License Fee $21.
Temp Plate $5.
I wasn't charged any freight, dealer prep/set up or anything else. Not to mention, he threw in a free Helmet, Jacket and Hitch Kit as well:2thumbs:
Now, my local dealer in KY is a different story. I purchased the RT-622 trailer from them, & they like to pad their pockets a little more. The break down is as follows & this was just yesterday June 26 2010.
RT-622 $3999.
Freight $175.
Tax $254.
Doc Fee $55.
I'm sure that if I purchased my actual RTS from my local dealer, they would have added all the extras that they could. For this reason, along with poor customer service, I will not be using this dealer anymore. A friend from on here suggested another location only about 45 minutes from where I live & all communications with them have given me good feelings that they will be more than happy to take care of my future servicing needs & earn my business.
Hope this helps, shopping around may get you a better deal, but be sure to find a good servicing dealer as your future enjoyment with your Spyder heavily depends on it
