• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dealer prep/destination fees

:agree:......The mark-up is actually closer to 30 % on Spyder's and Shipping is totally fictitious.......This is a dealer add-on, just ask them to prove they PAID it to BRP and see what their response is :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:...................Mike

There ya go Mike you did it. Now that was not so bad was it! Even the difference between 20% and 30% leaves a 10% profit. They would still be making $2200 if you offered to buy at a 20% discount. Then there is their add ons which you should never pay. I have a friend who tried to buy a Harley from Ride Now. He had me check the paper work and they had (can you believe) $8000 worth of add ons, one of which was salesman com. Needless to say we walked.

Actually Jack, what I meant was 30 % was the " PROFIT MARGIN "...ie. the dealer cost is 30 % lower than the M.S.R.P.......and that's what the dealer pays BRP for the Spyder .................IMHO.....Mike

Berts Mega Mall in Covina, Calif had a price tag on a Spyder. It showed $2,000 dealer prep. I didn't even talk to a salesman. With that kind of gouging, I just walked away.

I am thinking I would say something just to let them know I don't believe in dealer prep and that would cause me to walk and warn at least 10 of my friends about their price gouging.

I am in the market for a 2014 RT Limited...at $30,499 MSRP...take away 30% would give a price $21,350...so anything above that would be a fair offer? This not counting the manfacture rebate.

Any suggestions on dealers who are selling 2014 RT Limiteds?

Yes it would have been ......back when the 2014's weren't leftover's ........Check Louis Powersports in Greenville Texas they advertise a lot on E-bay.....or Holzhauer 1-888-276-2628....Good Luck....Mike

Wish I could bring proof of freight and setup is included in price when I go buy for the dealerships that that add it on for profit

I am on my 4th spyder and have never paid them. Some dealers just rip people off with fees like this and also paperwork fees that I have seen as high as $695. Some people have no idea and just pay it.

My dealer usually gets $600 F+A. At least that's whats on the tag. He knocked off $1850, and waived the F+A. And that was 2 days after it was unveiled. I'm sure if I tried to best him up on the price. The F+A would have been added on. Tom :spyder:

Now that you mention it, I don't have any friends either. :roflblack::roflblack:

I will just pass it on to my students.

I still have fun with Wells Fargo. They lost one of my mortgage payments, and sent the goons to collect as 10 days past transpired.

I had the company's that I was working for at the time change banks. That little incident cost Wells Fargo over two million dollars.

I don't get mad, I just get even sometimes. :roflblack::roflblack:

When I was about to purchase a F3-S up in the Northern CA. They wanted to $22,700 in August.
The Dealer Freight: $600
Dealer Set-up: $887
Documentation Fee: $80

In October, there was another dealer for $20,400.
Dealer Freight: $600
Handling: $749
Documentation Fee: $80.

I believe the best time to buy a bike would be in mid November or mid December. Nationwide, the Can Am Spyder F3-S is about $16,000 out the door as of November. Therefore, it all depends on when you purchase it. There are still Can Am Spyder that are brand new that are 2015.

I hope this helps...try to negotiate if you can. You can always try to find some out of state as well. I've heard that people actually bought their bike out of state, and sent back home for $500. So, it is up to you. Hopefully, this helped.
