• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Deadwood 3Wheel Rally, 2023 - Getting ready to leave!

For those who wanted to see more vendors - question for you. I'm a small passion hobby Spyder and Ryker Mechanic. I run Richardson Spyder Shop solely as a hobby. I have a completely unrelated career job.

I was talking with Michelle about the Vendors and whether I should try and be one in the future. I can do oil changes, accessory installs, glow lighting, etc. but - because I do it only as a hobby - I don't have a lot of funds to stock inventory, etc. Locally - I always have the customers buy the parts/material - and I just do the labor. I'm debating whether there's any benefit to a guy like me at these events. I'd be interested in the thoughts of those that went.

Jdr, Even though I haven't gone to the rally yet, I could see some interest in the service you are offering. I use a mechanic for my 4 wheel vehicles that allow us to buy our own parts and just pay for labor. He owns his business. It's a win-win in my mind. My wife doesn't want me doing a lot of mechanic type stuff anymore.

TP we stayed at the Travelodge. Hung out at the stadium very little. You might have seen my truck at "Tattoo My Ride". It was there for three days. She did an awesome job with it. Sorry we missed you. Tom :spyder:

Didn’t spend as much time there as I wanted to. Brother-in-law and his wife brought their Spyder to town (newbie’s and flat landers) so we took them on a more personal tour just to get them ryde time. Saw lots of Spyder’s on the road though.

I talked to you briefly one night in the parking garage. Also saw your truck - she did go a good job!

I think if you made it clear right up front that the customer would need to supply the parts and you would only do the labor/install, you could probably do pretty well. The customer would have to understand they are responsible for getting the parts to the rally. There were a number of things I would have paid good cash money to have done when I was down there, but there was no one available to do the work.

Is what was to have drawn people and vendors away from DW3, Saying there were 600 people registered for DW3 and not seeing more than about 100/125 at GZ, I'm thinking BS...
I kept looking for Rapid Spyder, Tango, GKamer, and a couple of the MN folks, only never connected with them either, but then, we were there to ride, not hang at GZ.

T.P.

Sorry I missed you bro, but you're right, the ride was the thing..... :)
