• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Daytona has Sport Mode - can it be retro-fitted to other models??

I'm guessing it does more than just alter the tc. My sport mode on my skidoo changes the torque curve making a very noticeable difference in acceleration over standard mode.

I believe that Lamont addressed the indicator light topic in the original introduction video...
Didn't he say that you would have a warning light lit up? :dontknow:
It that's the case: the bike has everything that it needs, except for the programming update! :D

I recently purchased a 2016 Can Am Spyder F3S. It was love at first sight. But now the 2017 F3 has Sport Mode.
I really hope that there will be a way that I can upgrade my F3 with Sport mode. It should just be a computer update where it disables the traction control. I have tried calling Can Am and BRP but all I get is customer service who can't give an answer.

It's really not that big of deal.. more of a sales gimmick. Yes.. technically the 2016 could be 'upgraded' via software to do it.. but how many burnouts does one really need to do?

The F3 can get sliding sideways while spinning the rear tire just fine without the sport mode....

Owner of a 2017 F3-S here.

Sport mode is over rated. Put it in sport mode a couple times, yeah it lets you get more sideways and doesn't retard the throttle.

***I really don't have too much of an issue getting sideways in default mode either.

To answer your other question. Yeah, they can be reprogrammed, but even if they allowed that to happen, you'd need to buy a new cluster.

Dealers can't make the change. It is factory only. How do I know? My 2017 was a 2016 "yard" model (Inventory) that BRP re-vinned to 2017 as a special dealer pre-build. I bought it last July.

My F3T will spin the rear tire for over 60 feet and it doesn't come with "Spot Mode" either!

I just got it so I have to keep it for a while before I think about a trade

At the price of tires, I try to stay out of the accelerator, which leaves more money for farkles and trips.
But it's nice to know I can spin tires on pavement if I choose.
