Down To The Wire, Conclusion ..... for real this time

NO MORE
:mad::banghead: ORANGE SCREEN OF DEATH:banghead::mad:

:clap::dg2::dg1::yes:No more codes ... PERIOD ... BLANK ... NADA ... :yes::dg2::dg1::clap:

Finally, what we long waited to see when I pulled up the Active Fault Codes ..... NOTHING but a BLANK Screen :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: I tell ya, I had been looking at that dang Orange Screen of Death for most of this past month, and could hardly believe it was finally back to normal, meaning we no longer needed to proceed in changing out the Low Pressure Switch :bowdown: Thank Goodness, we caught a brake ........ ha ha Pun Intended on that one:rolleyes:

Wow, I really was shocked, but after repeated shut offs and ons, no codes of any kind, so with the sled still have stripped, it was time to see if it would last & to take if for a test spin to see what would happen. Worse case, the brakes on Teds Red Sled would fail while coming down our steep hill, and his sled would make into a SeaDoo & promptly head straight to the bottom of the Ohio River :shocked: hmmmmmm........ wonder if it was self induced (by accident of course) if insurance would still cover it :rolleyes: as Teddy has been eyeing the new 2014s with that sweeter 3 valve engine and hopefully more towing potential :p but that's another topic of discussion.

And thankfully for us, the worse didn't happen and the brakes worked as they should, and with no sign of any codes or Orange Screens to be seen :clap: Who wouldda thunk it, but having slightly worn rear pads can cause a Low Brake Pressure Fault :rolleyes::dontknow: But hey, let our lesson be one for others to learn by ;)

And thanks to Mark, we recieved the replacement mirror that he sent for us, and I took my time and finished the install of the Sequential Turn Signal Arrows behind the mirror glass, and I have to admit, for around $20 & alot of frustratingly teadius work, and Marks assistance of course, this has got to be one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE MODS :firstplace: I think RTVIPER reported after doing his, he was a bit worried that cops might pull him over cause he kept changing lanes so he could watch them dance, and well ...... yeah...... I totally get it too ...... :ohyea: Like having a new toy at Xmas time, you just wanna play with it & watch it do its magic :clap: I'll eventually get a vid clip posted of them dancing for ya's, cause it does look pretty slick, & unlike our previous LED arrows that were mounted on the outside of the mirror, these being behind the glass, they don't take away from your view any at all, and at night, they don't blind your vision at all...... Best of Both Worlds .... and all for around $20 & a bit of sweat equity of your patience ;) But totally worth it ;)

:firstplace:So OUR THANKS to our SpyderLovers Community, cause without Y'ALL, we wouldn't be here today doing what we do :bowdown:

:yes:OMG... Is it time yet ... are we there yet ... Time to SpyderQuest Take Off is Fast approaching :yes:

get ready, get set...... go

have a safe trip and give Teddy some rubs for me

and you never got around to telling the story of the midnight run to the wedding at Spyderfest...... lol

I gotta admit, I am really excited that you guys are making the trip. I promise that the welcome :bbq: alone will be worth the trip:doorag:. I have the next 2 days off to get the food ready, the spyder inspected, and get to lake George. I have been to Covington, KY and Cin city, but that was long before I owned a spyder. See ya soon, rubber down...........shiny side up.

Safe travels. Maybe next year I'll meet up with you in CINCY and we'll cruise up together. I'd love to meet you and the Teddster. Always looking for a reason to ride :ohyea::ohyea:

Extremely Conflicted right now

At 4:20 this morning, as I'm getting ready for work, my phone wrang & Caller ID showed it was my best friends Mom :shocked: Oh No, this can't be good :shocked: My best friend Doug, that I've known since I was 16 years old and is closer to me than any of my own actual brothers is in the hospital. Seems it started on Saturday with him having slurred speach, blurry vision and loss of coordination. I was with him earlier in the day to drop him off to pick up his SUV from the repair shop & to get my car back from him. Being his weekend with his daughter & me busy with working on the Sled with my brother, I hadn't talked with him for the past couple of days, so I had no clue there were any issues.

His mom needed our call-in number for work, so I gave her that & then talked with him for a minute. He seemed a little 'slow' but 'normal' for the most part. He said they did a CT-Scan & it showed something is not right with his brain, but he said they didn't know what yet. Their suppose to do more/different scans later today to hopefully be able to tell what happened or is happening:dontknow:

I'm at work right now & am kind of in shock & extremely conflicted ........... I'm not sure how things are going to transpire, but I have to acknowledge that our SpyderQuest Trip may not happen, but I'm thinking we may just be delayed from leaving until I can make reasonably sure that he's going to be OK :dontknow:

:pray: To say prayers are appreciated would be an understatement :bowdown:

Wrapping up here at work

Just about finished with work, will head to the hospital to see what I can find out & if they think he'll be ok, then I'll head home & start finishing up all the odds and ends that still need to be completed & depending on how I'm feeling at that time, Teddy & I will either be bedding down for a quick nap or hitting the open road heading NorthEast for SpyderQuest. Even tho I'd much rather take all backroads, that's not really practical for the distance we have to travel, so here's a map of our anticipated route. We'll stop at a rest-area when I get too tired to continue, hop in the camper and take a nap for a couple of hours of recharging. If I have service & the time, I'll try to update y'all as we proceed ....... :pray: If we proceed that is :pray: Teddy & I Appreciate the prayers & well wishes for my buddy :bowdown:

Good Friend

Dave ... prayers for you buddy :pray::pray:. As others have said, whatever you decide ... be safe. Godspeed .... Best Regards ... Ann

Prayers given

Prayers for you and Teddy to have a safe trip both there and back, and prayers for your friend Doug. May His healing hand be upon Doug.

I'm thinking our trip is not a good idea right now

It appears that my buddy has had a mini-stroke & it has effected the right side of his brain, causing him some impairment on his left side along with somewhat slurred speach & he constantly looks to the right. I'm a bit in shock right now, as he's only 47 & in my 26 years of knowing him, this is the first time he's EVER had a medical issue. He just got divorced almost 3 yrs ago now, so its just him living alone with shared custody of his daughter. Don't think this is a good time for me to be leaving ........ I'm really sorry, Teddy & I have been looking forward to seeing all our NorthEastern friends again for some time, but family HAS to come first. If things change, I'll definitely let you all know :pray:

Dave ... so sorry to hear of your buddy's trouble -- :pray: praying for a full and speedy recovery. I do not envy your position ... on the one hand is Spyderquest that we all know your were SO looking forward to ... and on the other is family that needs your presence and support. Trust your heart (though it sounds like you already are) ... you will make the right decision for you and family every time.

Hoping for positive outcomes all the way around .... Best Regards .... Ann

Take Care

You and your buddy have been through thick and thin together. Right now he needs you :pray::pray::pray: and your heart just wouldn't be at Spyderfest, it would be home with him. :(:( All of your Spyder family and friends :f_spider::f_spider::f_spider: will understand and support your decision. Sometimes life gets in the way of our fun but that's what makes us human. As the Cubs say, there is always next year! :2thumbs:
