Dave & Teds Most Excellent Adventures 2013

Sorry for getting off topic of our SpyderFest Adventure, but here's where we are now

After my buddy helped with figuring out all the logistics of setting up the work rack/ramp, we were able to get a better view of Teds Stripped Sled than ever before and with all the new viewing angles, I was even able to locate a couple of long lost bolts than had been dropped inside the tupperware on previous undressings, thought to never be seen again ..... but we found them ........ YAY!!!

So here's our delima, same as I've stated before. Tho now, we've completed replacing both front brake pads and rotors, with Ron's EBC's and even tho our first set squealed like a Pig being chased for dinner, as Ron stated he thought for sure, not a peep out of these new ones, at least not yet on 50 miles of testing. Tho now, I can faintly hear a bit of squealing from the rear that I didn't notice before, cause the fronts were just so dang loud, you could seriously hear them from over a block away, and that was even after using the CRC Brake Quiet on them .... :sour: The sled stops much more uniformly now, cause when we were in Maggie Valley, I knew I was burning up the rotors by braking so much while on a group ryde with our camper in tow coming down the mountain, but couldn't really do much about it at the time. Sure enough, they were warped, and these new ones were just the ticket......... :firstplace:Thanks Ron

If memory serves me correctly, I think the fault codes we were getting was C0049 (Low Brake Fluid) & P1030 (Low Brake Pressure/Possible Leak) & I was hoping that once we got the new brakes complete and topped off the fluid, these codes would be satisfied and would go away, but sadly, that's not been the case entirely. Once we drained most of the old brake fluid from both of the resevours & replaced it with new & manually cleared the codes and restarted, then the C0049 code did go away and didn't return. Sadly tho, the P1030 code did return and my brother and I both checked all the brake lines and can't find any leaking to cause the pressure fault, so I'm at a loss of what to do besides having to relent and get the dealer involved.

Our other code has me worried, as its a P0335 code and again, I'm going from memory here as I'm at work & don't have the repair manual in front of me, but I believe that one is for the front S02 (Oxygen/Heat) Sensor not reading correctly. There are two, one on each exhaust pipe from the cylinders and that front one does look to be in worse condition (at least on the outside) than the rear one toward the back right side.

We're right at 40K miles now, and at 32K we replaced the OEM airbox/intake with the KewlMetal Intake, so I'm wondering if this has something to do with that sensor failing......... possibly :dontknow: I'm just not sure :dontknow: but as I said, that front one that the code refers to looks bad compared to the other one, but whats weird is, I don't really notice the Sled running bad at all, and it doesn't seem to be missing that I can tell.

My brother suggested checking in the repair manual, since both 02 sensors use the same part #, he's thinking they should then be the same, and if the manual shows that the Spyder will throw a different code for the rear 02 sensor, as opposed to the front code that we're getting now, then I should be able to switch the 2 sensors and see if the code changes to the rear 02 sensor being bad, and if so, then I would know that in fact, that 02 sensor is the problem & most probably needs replaced.

I've never dealt with this kinda mechanics, but my brother has worked on cars ever since he was a kid, so he does know what he's talking about ...... when it comes to cars, but he has reservations and he fully admits, while the Spyder is similar to a car, there's just so much computer driven do-dads that he's not comfortable telling to do something or not, which I can understand from his point of view. He doesn't want to tell me to try something that might damage the machine more and possibly cause more issues, but he also know's that Teddy & I are pretty much broke and have to try and do anything we can on our own..... one of those being stuck between a rock and a hard place ........... :opps:

I searched for a couple of hours thru the BRP On-Line Parts fiche, and couldn't find those dang sensors for nothing, and my bro kept saying they should be listed under either EXHAUST or EMMISIONS but they just show a hole in the pipe where they go on the exhaust fiche, but don't list them there at all, and there are no drop-downs for EMMISIONS at all. I finally gave in & called the dealer & after about 10 minutes of the parts girl checking, she finally found them listed under ELECTICAL ACCESSORIES FRONT SE5 & they each cost [TABLE="class: gv, width: 99%"]

If they're the same part number, and have the same connector, then they SHOULD be interchangeable.

You also may NOT get a downstream O2 sensor error, depending on how the sensor is failing. Sometimes, they are just "slow", and in that case, you probably would not see a different code by switching them, since the downstream sensor is supposed to me a more steady value than the upstream one.

The one before the CAT is monitoring the gasses directly from the engine, and telling the computer to modify the fuel ratio based on those readings. So, if you look at that on a graph, or scope, it shows very rapid, almost erratic changes.

The one after the CAT is monitoring the performance of the CAT. Since the gasses have been altered, to be a cleaner output, you would see slow curves from this sensor.

So... If the sensor did get sluggish, the error would probably go away, and you may not get an error for the back sensor. If it is just a "bad" sensor, you probably would get an error.

SpyderFest2013 The NEW Adventure-Chap 29- FRIDAY- The search is on .... for steak

So there I was, stressing myself out thinking we're heading to some expensive steakhouse (Ruth's Cris is usually about $50+/person) but since Jesse claimed it was the Best Steak in America while out on the road, I was thinking more along the lines of OutBack/LongHorn/Etc... but even those places can easily be over $20/person for a meal, so yeah, I had been stressing out knowing I really didn't have the funds to be splurging on steak. So, imagine my surprise ........ that's just not the right emotion ........ imagine my shock if you will, when we pull into the parking lot of what Jesse had been touting all this time, as having the Best Steak in America when your out on the road, and we find ourselves coming to a stop in the parking lot of .................................................... WaffleHouse  Seriously folks, WaffleHouse ..... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: There you have it, and now you know, The Best Steak in America, when out on the road, according to our buddy Jesse, is served at ..... WaffleHouse ...:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Once I realized this, I think I had to wipe a tear from my eye, cause I was laughing so hard from disbelief, as I'm sure Jeff & Jim were as well, and Teddy, well he could'a cared less, cause to him, food is food and its all good .... as long as he's getting some himself :2thumbs: Have to admit tho, a great feeling of relief came over me, cause even I, with our limited funds, had enough to eat at WaffleHouse

I can't speak for Jeff & Jim, and maybe they'll chime in here, but I can only imagine what had to be going through their minds as well, cause neither of them knew Jesse at all before this (not so) little adventure of ours, and I at least knew him from being local, and knew that he had a rather unique and somewhat eccentric personality ... But WoW!!! To think what we just endured, salivating over steak, thinking we're in for a real treat of the Best Steak in America, and here we sit ...... at WaffleHouse ........... :yikes: ................ :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: and them not knowing Jesse, no one wanted to be rude and tell him out right that we all thought he needed to be admitted to the local psyche ward, so we just went along with it, and we dined at WaffleHouse and watched Jesse eat what he claims is the Best Steak in America while out on the road ...... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Just thinking about that has my side hurting from laughing so damn much, cause truth be told, the man believed it too ....

There were a few customers already inside enjoying their meals, and with the WaffleHouse being such a small place, I decided it would be best for all of us if I actually left Teddy out in the truck, cause otherwise, we'd never get to actually enjoy our meals. When ppl see Teddy, they usually don't think and just react, by coming over and wanting to pet him and take his pic and chat about him, which requires me to pay attention to them, instead of what I was doing. When its just me, I've gotten used to it, so it doesn't bother me that much anymore, but when I'm with other's, well, it can be a real pain to deal with at times, cause some ppl just don't know when enough is enough, and I didn't want this to turn into one of those situations, so with it only drizzling a little, we parked right by the front & left the windows cracked and it was comfortable, around 64F degrees, and we left him in the truck while we went to enjoy ..... The Best Steak in America when out on the road..... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

TBC .............................................. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Being polite can be difficult.....

First, Jesse is truly a very unique personality. His heart is as big as you'll find anywhere, his sense of humor (maybe it just his normal personality) can be hilarious and he has a philosophy on life that he shares with anyone within ear shot.

When we pulled into the parking lot at Waffle House, Jeff and I started smiling, then looked at each other, holding back our laughs we started tearing up. You know how contagious laughter can be but we tried to hold it in so we wouldn't embarrass ourselves in Jesse's eyes. Realizing later that Jesse really doesn't care what we think of him, Jesse is Jesse (you'll learn that as Dave's tale continues).

FYI, I was the only person that knew Springfield, MO. I've been in sales for many years and Springfield had been in my territory on and off for many years. Jesse may have been the driver but I took the position of GPS and tour guide. As the "tour" began and continued, I directed us to every corner of Springfield and every store in Springfield that may have sold the gloves and/or antenna we were on a quest to find.

Continue on Dave, enjoying reliving our experience through your narrative. Can't wait to hear your take on the "take home boxes" from Waffle House.

Jim

you;'re right Jim, I do remember sitting in the back seat with you doing all I could to not just blurt something out,,,,

poor lil Teddy - having to sit in the truck watching us eat.... lol

and no, the adventure is not yet over.... we traversed Springfield finding places no one seemed to know existed or places that just opened or places you would never think to stop and search at

this is really funny reading and reliving that day

Here we go... RedNeck'n it again ryde'n a stripped sled- Hit a mile marker last night

So .......... we've still been dealing with some gremlins, namely the BRAKE FAILURE & CHECK ENGINE Faults:banghead:
Changed the front pads & rotors and drained most the old brake fluid & replaced with new and made sure it was topped off correctly,
and that did get rid of the C0049 Fault Code for low brake fluid

But ......... we still have the WARNING Flashing on the LCD for BRAKE FAILURE even tho
we're not getting a fault code for it :dontknow:

Also, we're still getting the P0335 & P1030 fault codes, and that's why the LCD keeps flashing
the dang CHECK ENGINE Warning on the display :lecturef_smilie:

I got tired of having to remove the tupperware each time to make sure the engine was still there,
so now we've just left it off and are back to ryde'n redneck style with a stripped sled ....

That way, whenever it flashes the Warning to CHECK ENGINE,
all I have to do is look down to make sure its still there ...... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

:dontknow: That is what that means........ right? .........

In an effort to hopefully correct the above, we just completed the oil & filter change
and came to find out, the washer our Service Dept. gave us to fit the drain plug
and Heila-Coil they put in doesn't seal all the way, and we're leaking oil from the drain plug

:helpsmilie:So Teddy & I spent most of last night running around trying to find something that would work
and hopefully we now have that fix in hand

We stopped by the Airplane Take-Off Viewing area out at the airport on the way home,
& when I looked at the display, we were sitting right at 40,000 miles
so I had to stop & snap a couple of pics to record the milestone & also,
a few pics of Teddy as well. Here he is posing on his mostly Stripped Sled
in front of the Historical Marker out at the airport denoting that very area
was actually the CENTER OF POPULATION of the entire country
way back in 1880 :) .... now you know ... ;)

ummmmmm.......... as a matter of fact ............ YES ........ YES WE DID !!!

I'm sure we've all heard the saying "The road to hell is paved with good intentions!" right?

Well, back in the winter of 2010, after getting our 1st Spyder that May, I started feeling guilty for leaving Teddy at home all alone, durring the freezing rydes that I would do on a daily basis. Being totally new at the ryding thing, I hadn't yet figured out a good way of being able to take Teddy with me & keep him from freezing, so that first winter, he stayed home alot and made sure I knew he wasn't happy about that. So, thinking in the short term for his best interest, I decided to go to the local pound and adopt him a play-mate so he wouldn't be all alone. I knew I didn't have enough time for another dog and from prior experience, knew that cats were very independant and wouldn't need nearly as much time as a dog would, so I figured I'd adopt a pet cat for Teddy to play with.

Now Teddy is a lover, not a fighter :ohyea:& has actually been beaten up by stray cats on 3 different occasions while we were out walking. So, taking this into condideration, I figured it best to adopt a brand new baby kitten, that way Teddy would be :doorag:BOSS:doorag: & the kitten would grow up being subservient to Teddy & that should take care of any of those sort of 'issues'.

The shelter had a no declaw policy, which worried me, but I figured since I found this 6 week old kitten that was found in someones yard, that she should be the perfect play-mate for Teddy & could grow up alongside him, being bestest of friends ...... right .........

Well, Teddy was a bit jealous from the start & didn't like the idea of sharing my attention, but they got along well enough. Over the next 4 months however, Skydie grew to be larger than Teddy & with her claws in tact, well ..... to put it mildly  she made Teddy her b*tch  He was so scared of her & for good reason, she'd tear into him like there was no tomorrow :helpsmilie:

I've never posted close up pics of Teddy's ears when their shaved down, but both of them are sliced toward the bottom from tussles that they've gotten into  & I'm just thankful that she only got his ears & missed his eyes :yikes: After seeing both ears get sliced, I knew then that I had to do something, cause I had basically just made Teddy's life miserable, being bullied by Skyddie anytime I wasn't around, so for like 9 hours a day while I was at work, and they were both in the upstairs bedroom ...... poor pup :(

That's when I posted on here about needing to find Skyddie (her full name was SkydMarq) a new home, and ThreeFeet of the MoGang fame had commented on how beautiful her coat & and markings were and that she already had a few cats, so one more couldn't hurt. She was a fan of Teddy ever since we first met when Len introduced us before SpyderFest & Teddy & I got initiated as honorary members of the MoGang, so she figured if she could help out her buddy Teddy by giving Skyddie a new home, she was all for it

And Teddy & I had been jones'n for a road-trip, and ThreeFeet lives in Salem MO which is just a ways past cowtown, so .......... sure enough, Teddy & I packed up his Red Sled & he took his position as 'BOSS' right behind me, and Skyddie, well, she got to enjoy the 600+ mile trip in the comforts of Teddy's Dog House on wheels, and she road the entire way in our Moto-Mate Camper all the way to ThreeFeets.

So, short answer made long, YUP, we took that cat for one hell'uva ryde ........................... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: & Teddy couldn't be happier about it :clap::clap:

Here's a few pics from that trip to ThreeFeets, who made room in her huge garage for Teds Sled & Camper too  and room in her heart to give Skyddie a new Loving Home

:yes::yes::yes::yes:

Yup, its a bad Oxygen Sensor all right

Here's my guess from the Big Book of BRP

TAS
If one sensor is inoperative, throttle control will be maintained, but a check engine light and a check engine message will appear in the gauge cluster, and a relevant fault code will be recorded in the ECM.

Oxygen Sensor Service Life
The following tips may indicate whether a sensor has reached the end of its service life and need to be replaced:
- Poor fuel economy
- Higher exhaust emissions
- Engine surging and/or hesitation
- Rough idling - Catalytic converter failure
- Check engine light is ON
- An oxygen sensor fault code can be read in B.U.D.S.

Decided we're NOT going to sell our work-rack, the dang thing is just too useful to part with. I've learnt that most of the work needing done doesn't require one to be seated on the Spyder, even if you need to run it, it can be done from the floor while its perched upon the stand. Just have to make sure to shut the ceiling fan off when ryding it on & off the work-rack, and other than that, we're good ;)

Its just so dang nice to have everything at eye level, really makes working on ones own Spyder more of a joy than a hassle..... at least thats what I'm finding. My brother really likes it too, as he stopped over this weekend and helped me to switch out the front 02 sensor for the back one, then we cleared the codes and rechecked, and sure enough, it went from P1030 which is denoting the front S02 Sensor to P1036 which denotes the back S02 sensor was faulty, so I have a new 02 Sensor on order.

After doing the oil/filter change last week, I noticed the drain plug from the motor was still leaking, even with using the Honda Washer #14 that the shop told me I'd need to use with the new Heila-Coil that they installed. I should have realized when I originally took it apart that it wouldn't work, as the washer they used wasn't the same as he advised me I'd need to use going forward, but I went with what he told me. So I had to drain the oil from the engine, and took the plug to Ace and found a synthetic washer made for High Temps and used that with a regular washer and everything seems to have sealed up fine after 2 days of sitting and being turned off and on a dozen times, tho we haven't ridden for any length of time just yet. But having the Spyder up in the air 2 feet on the work-rack made everything a breeze to see and do.

Laying on the matt under the Spyder I even spotted a couple of long lost screws that were dropped some time ago and were lodged in odds and ends places, that if not for having that view, I'da never seen them. Enjoying the experience so much, one thing lead to another and I started installing some of the mods that have been sitting on the shelves for months now. Got the WOLO air-horn installed, tho we had to make a custom installation, cause it was just a bit too large to fit in the OEM position, so we installed it just a tad bit lower inside the front air-dam where the cut out for the sound of the horn to come thru is. This way, its pointing forward for optimum blaring directly ahead of us, where its usually most desired ;)

Since I have the frunk schroud taken off to do the horn, I looked on the mods shelf & saw that we still had the Xenon Depot HID Fog Lights that needed to be installed & since we were already working in that area anyways, might as well go ahead and get that taken care of as well. And WOW, what a HUGE difference between the OEM Fogs & the HID Fogs. Not that we've taken it out ryding at night yet to really be able to tell, but just in testing them, with the right still being the OEM & the left being switched to the HIDs, you can see a big difference between the two on the garage wall. The OEM looks a faded yellow almost while the HID now matches the bright white of our head-light HIDs and are much brighter than the OEM. I even took a couple of pics cause I was shocked at the difference & I'll see if I can get them uploaded so you can actually see for yourselves what I'm talking about ;)

So yeah, this was a very productive weekend, tho we're still waiting for the 02 sensor to arrive and we still have the SpyderPops Possum-Pusher to get installed & I'm still frustrated cause we think we corrected the Low Brake Pressure Fault C1282 but even after 6 attempts to get the fault to reset, as outlined in the Repair Manual, we still can't get it to go away & reset :banghead:

Living & learning, left foot, right foot, breath, continue........ I just know, ready or not, Teddy WANTS to ryde :banghead: & we're getting there ...... slowly but surely ....... we're getting there :)

Grumble Grumble Grumble ...........................

:mad:Oh no !!! Not again !!!

Got home from work yesterday & they were once again doing some road construction on the street directly in front of our condo. They did this very same thing one time a couple of years back & since the job wasn't finished, they just covered the large hole in the center of the road with a couple of those large metal plates. The speed limit is 30MPH but since its a long straight stretch going right along the Ohio River, many ppl get up to 40 & 45 easily while going thru this area, and with the increased speed, it would sound like a bomb going off every time someone would roll over the plates. Being in a condo directly in front of this, up on the 3rd & 4th floors, there was no escaping the pounding sounds & I immediately got on the phone with the Electric Company that was doing the road work, and was told they'd send someone to check it out. They didn't secure the plates at all and they were shifting & that's what was causing so much noise. I called my brother, who recently retired as the Public Works Directly for a neighboring city & asked his opinion & he flatly told me they were breaking code, cause any temporary road plates had to be secured, by like putting a temporary blacktop burm around it, but one way or another, it was suppose to be secured from movement, & those weren't. I had noticed this soon after they completed the job & left, so around 4pm, and by 8pm nothing had been done. At 9pm, I knew no where was going to be open to answer my calls, so I called the cops non-emergency number to report it, cause it was definitely 'DISTURBING THE PEACE' & also with the plates moving, could cause an accident. Well, they came out, said there wasn't much they could do, and left a couple of orange cones along side the highway to kind of warn mororists to slow down, but that didn't do much good at all. I went to bed around 11pm & even with having ear-plugs in, I couldn't sleep. Every time I'd doze off, BAMM BAMM !!! BAMMM BAMM !!! Over & Over again.

Being sleep deprived can cause a person to do crazy things, and I did just that. If no one else was going to help, then I'd have to take issues into my own hands, & I did just that. I'm NOT saying what I did was right, but at least I did get a couple of hours of sleep that night.

Low & Behold, I get home from work yesterday & relive this very same cenario, with the same phone calls to the Energy Company, to the Public Works dept & this time, there WAS an accident directly in front of our condo, not major just a fender bender. But this time, the cops didn't leave any cones & I couldn't correct matters as I had done the last time, so needless to say, I've had very little if any sleep & am very grumpy this morning. I just hope by the time these companies business offices open for business today, I'm still coherant enough to form an understandable sentence to properly explain my dissatisfaction with their work & what ramifications its causing by them NOT doing their jobs properly & by code :cus::mad::cus: Sorry, I'm just a lil pissy right now & needed to vent :chill:

:dontknow: Can you tell which one is stock & which one is the Xenon-Depot HID Fog-Light? :dontknow:

Kinda wish I hadn't seen these. I had some TricLEDs added to my front fenders and upper A-arms which are bright white. There's now a very noticeable difference in the color of my head/fog lights and the LEDs, which I don't really care for. I'm not really interested in the costs for the BRP HID solutions, so may be looking elsewhere to spend more money I don't really need to spend...

Mark, the difference in the HIDs compared to stock will AMAZE you, especially in the Head-Lights. They will give you a much wider and further down the road view then the stock lights give you now, and that, to me was a safety concern, cause we do a lot of night riding.

And we couldn't come close to being able to afford the offerings from BRP, so that's why we went with Steve at Xenon-Depot. The guy is more than willing to talk with you over the phone, explain all the differences in color temps/hues so that you get what's best for your particular application. Definitely suggest giving him a call and talking with him, if for nothing else, just the education and better understanding of all things lighting ;)

Grumble Grumble Grumble ... The following day brings a learning lesson

:mad:Oh no !!! Not again !!! :chill:

You know, while I'm far from thinking that I'm the brightest crayon in the box, I also never really thought of myself as dim-witted either.......... but after this little repeated episode, I'm starting to question that ...

Why is it so easy for us to take so much for granted ???

Why is it so hard for us to remember the lessons of gratitude from our last learning experience ???

Over a decade ago, at my best friends wedding, I heard something for the first time in my adult life, that actually shocked me. The Best Man (which was my Best Friends Brother) was giving his speach, and along with the usual banter, he wished the happy couple enough struggles and pain to temper their marriage....

At first hearing this, I was shocked that someone that supposedly loved his brother, was basically wishing ill will upon him & the person he loved and at that time, I just didn't get 'IT' & thought him crazy for including such a statement in what should have been a speach of admiration and a future full of love and everything good for the new couple.

Yesterday brought that sentiment back to my consciousness. I admittedly was a bit delirious and frustrated from the lack of sleep and having no choice but to deal with the mucked-up steel plates covering the road construction and making the horrible sounds that kept Teddy & I from getting any type of revitalizing sleep.

And then, I stewed about it while here at work the following morning, trying to figure out who I could call to get a resolution to this issue, and boy..... did I stew ... :opps: thinking horrible thoughts of finding the CEOs phone number of the Energy company that I called and complained about the issue to, but they didn't do anything to rectify the situation, and calling him at home at 3am and letting him listen to the sounds of BAMM BAMM !!! BAMM BAMM !!! that I was having to endure all night long & seeing how he liked it ... :lecturef_smilie: and doing the same to the Public Works Director for the City we live in, just to share in my misery, to give them a taste of what we were having to deal with ...... :helpsmilie:

But in reality, I'm NOT that ugly of a person to do something like that, at least not usually I'm not. I got sent home from work early again yesterday, out of parts to run, and I had spent the morning stewing of what to do to get a resolution, but then, after a morning of stewing, when I got to my road, they were still doing road construction but about a block down from where they were the day before. And when I got to my street, the metal plates were already gone. Nothing left there but a fresh clean black-top patch that was almost silent when ran over by the cars and trucks driving over it
 Talk'n about wanting to do a Happy Dance right there in the street :yes:

It took something like loosing the peace and quiet that we're used to, to get some much needed rest, to appreciate once again, having that same peace and quiet  Kinda like wishing a new couple heading into marriage just enough struggles and pain to help temper their commitment

I've learned this lesson many times before, but how does one go about not forgetting said lesson on a daily basis :helpsmilie:

It's the little things...

I find that almost always it's the little things in life that bring me the most joy. We often forget to notice and appreciate them, but amazing joy :ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:is around us every day, just waiting for our eyes to open.

I'm sure you both got a better night's sleep yesterday and now are feeling like yourself again. Just chalk your mood yesterday to being human. But hey, at least you made everyone else on here appreciate their quiet streets!:clap::clap:

Never can leave "Well Enough Alone" so whats up with that ???

I know I can't be the only one out there that's aflicted in this manner, right? :dontknow:

You see something that just bugs you, so you do a little discovery work & figure, hmmmmm, I bet it would work better if only .............

And three days later, you come to find yourself waist deep in an unrecognizable pile of parts that once were a complete something or another

but now, are just that ....... a pile of parts staring back at you and laughing, cause they know you have no clue what your doing, how you got to where you are, and just how your suppose to get everything back together again ..... yeah .... good luck with that ..... :cheers:you'll need it

Great, now what have I done ............................... :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Dave & Teddy

Holy Cow :yikes: Dave! Have you resulted into talking to your :spyder2: parts . What's the matter? Has Teddy quit speaking to you? ;) I'm sure you'll get everything back to together after a little :banghead::banghead:

AWFUL QUIET OUT THERE!!

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn: It's been 3 days an nothing. Hope all is well with Dave and Teddy:pray::pray::pray:

You know that point, where you figure your in over your head, but you just keep going

Sorry for the lack of commentary, but this past weekend proved rewarding ....... to an extent :(

I checked the order status for the Oxygen Sensor that needed to be replaced & when I clicked on the link in the e-mail verification, it took me to a seperate screen showing the projected delivery date as being Sat 8/17/13 :clap:so I figured we'd get the sensor 'hopefully' early on Saturday & that I'd get it replaced & still have plenty of time to put ALL of Teds Red Sled back together again, but yeah ..... that didn't exactly pan out how I'd hope ... :sour: and it was caused by my own lack of focus, I guess you could say .... :lecturef_smilie:

So while I was out in the garage with Teddy's supervision, we checked out what all else has been long sitting on our MODS TO BE DONE shelf, and we had already finished the BadBoy Air Horn Install  and then we finished the Xenon Depot HID FogLight Conversion :clap:WOW O WOW:yes:HUGE DIFFERENCE  and then I thought about doing the SpyderPops Possum Pusher, but then, thought it best to wait on that one, seeing as we have the Sled perched high atop the work rack, and it has to be driven off and on with ramps, and its close as it is to having enough clearance, I'd rather wait & put it on using our jack & then test to make sure Teds Sled still has enough clearance to make it up and down off the work rack, without potentially tearing the new Possom Pusher off  so yeah, we decided it best to wait on that one. So we kept looking a little more, and couldn't believe, minus a few odds & ends LEDs that was about it to be installed of the items that were already done & ready & had been waiting for who knows how long to get installed.

So, with a little more digging, I found the original set of LED Sequential Turn Signal Arrows that I wanted to install on Teds Red Sled, but could never figure out if they would work with the RT's mirror assemblies or not and had given up trying to install them over 2 years ago, & instead went with the outside stick on turn signal LED indicator arrows that we've been using ever since, & hey, for $10 they are hard to beat for the added visibility and security they provide in easily knowing if you got your turn signal to cancel correctly or not.

But yeah, I saw those sequential LEDs & thought they'd look really trick on Teds Red Sled. If you've ever seen the MUTH mirrors, they are just like them, only better. They only give you 1 LED arrow, whereas the LEDs I found for this project have 3 different LED arrow sets that blink sequentially, one arrow after the next after the next :ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:and, Teddy was able to pick these babies up for only $22 compared to the Muths at around $200 :yikes: Here's a link to theres.
