So here's our cast of characters for our Epic journey on Friday ...... what should have been a simple run to the store & shop ...... but turned into sooooooooooo much more ......... (Thanks to Mike) there was nothing simple about it really .......... but still a Grand Time :clap:was had by all hyea:
(Remind me if I forget to mention, where you can find the Best Steak in the Country when your out on the road........... :bbq:.... according to Jesse, that is )

Then of course, there's yours truly along with my Boss .......... The Tedster

And we can't forget about our adventure seeking buddy, AKA: Jim

And this was our mode of conveyence for our Epic Journey, Jesse's Honda RidgeLine being professionally chauffeured by none other than Jesse himself Sans the trailer & Spyder
(Thank Goodness.... for Bass Pro Shops - yeah, there's a story there for sure:shocked

As we all pile into Jesse's RidgeLine, our mission at first seemed clear. Head to PitBull PowerSports and see if Len has any Antenae's in stock, if so, get the two that we need there, if not, we'd have to search around a bit to find them, then we'd head off to WallyWorld in search of those Ice Fishing Gloves that Mike had shown me the night before at race-track ......... in front of dozens of others at the pik-nik tables................. simple enough, right :clap: Lets Go ! :clap:

So mind you now, this is early in the day on Friday & its just a pouring down rain and we set off and within a few minutes, we find ourselves at PitBull PowerSports which is cram packed, maybe even more so than the day before. I'm guessing here, but since it was rainy out, that kind of takes the fun out of Spyder ryding, so many of the other SpyderFest goers also thought it best to stay inside on Friday, and why not spend it with a few hundred of your brethren and make it into a party :joke:at PitBulls.

Personally myself, I wasn't too worried about replacing my missing antenae cause Teddy & I usually listen to either MP3's that are loaded on our Zumo 665 or we browse thru the XM channels to find something to listen to when out on the open road, so we rarely ever listen to am/fm which is why we would need the antenae. But since Jeff's was also missing, and we're searching together, why not get one while we were at it. But for this reason, I let Jeff go about the search if PitBull had any in stock or not, and Teddy & I took up temporary positions as honorary salesmen to give Lens overwhelmed sales crew a much needed hand.

They had a Viper Red RT in the middle of the show room floor, so I put Teddy where he would be most comfortable, right there in the passenger position, and I allowed him to just hang out there selling Spyders. And I'm not joking folks, we had to actually get some more of the sales brochures from the counter and they ran out of cards so we had them put the PitBull stickers with their phone numbers on them, cause I know at least 3 of the couples we were talking with and helping to answer questions were very serious. Teddy would schmooze & I would answer their questions, then when they came to wanting to know prices & such, I'd hand it off to either Len or one of his sales men.

While handing over a potential sales couple to Len, I jokingly asked him if Teddy was getting commision in doggy treats, which caused Len to break out in a much needed laugh......:roflblack::roflblack:

I have to tell ya, for those of you that didn't get to attend this years SpyderFest even with all the rain, you still missed One Helluva Good Time :clap: :bowdown: :firstplace: :yes:

And much of that was due to all the long hours of hard work that Len, the PitCrew, the MoGang and so many others behind the scenes put in, in getting everything ready and the countless hours of preperation and leg work and running around to bring it all together:bowdown: Sure, there were some issues, as there always will be, but for the most part, I think that everyone that attended enjoyed the experience and made the best of it.

So back to our story..................
Cause of Teddy being the little Attention Wh*re that he is we got to meet so many more of his fans than we did even the day before. For a time, we had him back on one of PitBulls ATVs and he was there, work'n it for some treats and pose'n for pics, like you woulda thought this lil dog owned the place or something hyea:and this continued for a while, over and over again with new fans walking by, then quickly becomming smitten with Teddy and then they'd want to get a Hi5 and a pic taken

After an hour or so, Jesse found us and asked if we were ready, as I think he found out that PitBull didn't have any antenae's in stock, but he did get a good lead on where we could probably find an aftermarket one that would work, and the group was ready to head out.

At this time, I think it only right that I add a disclaimer here. You see, our story took place back in April, of 2013 and here we are now in the middle of July and Teddy & I also had the adventure of going to the Owners Event in Maggie Valley, so it does get a little foggy trying to recall how/when/where/who all that happened to retell the Story here for all of Teddy's fans. So, if I get something incorrect, please accept my apologies up front, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if YOU were part of this ADVENTURE in ANY WAY, PLEASE DON'T BE SHY & CHIME IN and make a post here, we ALL welcome it. Like if you got to meet and talk with us, or maybe if you were one of the hundreds that got to snap a pic of Teddy doing what he does best, by all means, PLEASE SHARE IT with the rest of us. I fully admit that my memory sucks, always has even as a kid, supposedly a side effect of the ADHD, its all in there but trying to keep things in order and recalling them correctly, can sometimes be a challenge to say the least. That's one of the main reasons I usually take so many pics, having a camera in my cell phone is a life savor for me, cause if its something important that I need to remember, I just snap a pic & can easily bring it up when needed. Only problem is, when Teddy & I are out on the road, we're the ones usually bombarded with the crowed taking pics of us (Teddy really) but I'm the guy behind the scenes, so I rarely get the time, or even think about grabbing my phone & taking pics, & unfortunately, we miss out on taking them and being able to relive the moment from our own pics. So again, if you have any, please share them here with us, as I'd really appreciate it :bowdown: And again, if I recall something that you are aware of and I post it incorrectly, I'm not offended in any way if you correct me. Same goes if I forget something you may be aware of, that may be an integrual part of the story line, please....... speak up:bowdown: We All Thank YOU :bowdown:

So all 4 of us humans (along with Teddy the Supervisor) pile into Jesse's Ridgeline and off we went, thinking we'd be gone maybe an hour, with a couple of stops at local shops to get the needed antenaes & then a stop by the local WalMart so all of us could pick up a pair of those sweet & cheap Ice Fishing Gloves for ourselves........ :thumbup:

Not sure if it was Jesse or one of the other fellas, but someone had a lead on where we could go about finding antenaes that would work on our Spyders, as they use an adapter thats not so universal, so we set off to that place first. You'll understand better later, but forgive me, cause I can not recall for the life of me where our first destination actually was. But within 10 to 15 minutes we're pulling into the parking lot, maybe an auto parts store like O'Rileys or something (thanks Jeff for the reminder) and its still pouring down raining. We all hop out and run from the truck to under the awning of the building, like we were all made of sugar and were afraid that we'd melt if we got wet Teddy being Teddy tho, not sure if it has something to do with that old saying about a dog not being smart enough to get in from the rain, but he had no issues with the rain coming down, and as usual, since we stopped, it was potty time. I risked my own life, (you know, from all my sweetness melting in the rain ........:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack and I took him to potty while the rest of the group headed inside.

After Teddy finished, we headed in to join the group and to hopefully get our own antenae as well, but we were sadly dissapointed. Mind you now, at this time, I didn't understand about the type of mounting base that the Spyder uses for its antenae, but Jesse was well aware, and even tho this shop had many, he swore none would work for our Spyders. Personally, I was thinking an antenae that advertised as coming with a Universal Adapter should work without issue, but Jesse seemed to know better and I accepted his word. I believe it was Jeff that even asked the guy working the shop, and he agreed with Jesse, all that they had wouldn't work We also checked out their gloves, but nothing they had was similar to what Mike had shown me, not to mention, what they did have was really expensive, so ......... STRIKE 1 & STRIKE 2

Jeff explained to the sales guy that we were from out of town & didn't know the area and if he could suggest where we could go to get an antenae that would work? Oh sure, just go to ___________________ whatever he said, and they should have it. Thank goodness for nav apps on smart phones, otherwise we probably would have went missing for days on this little adventure. So we do a search for where the guy suggest, somewhere right out of town and over the railroad tracks ....... yeah, right :shocked: We follow the guys directions just like he told us, but then we go over the railroad tracks and there's no shop, nothing at all, just open land. We keep treking forward and come to a large industrial area, and we're all convinced a little MC shop wouldn't be located way out here in the middle of no mans land, but a check of the NAV App, and it says to keep going, so we do ......... and low and behold, there's the little shop we were told about......... but way out further than the man had lead us to believe but hey, at least we found it.

If I remember correctly, I think this was a Yamaha shop and it looked to be a brand spanking new shop, nice and big with all kinds of 2 wheeled toys not to mention many many farkles for said toys. Now I have to be honest here, besides one Harley shop back home, this was the very first time for Teddy & I to ever step foot into an actual motorcycle shop ....... ever pps:

Never had an interest in the 2 wheelers since I was a kid at 16 & had a buddy that was 18 who had a crotch rocket and was showing off, laid it down and had to have his left leg amputated right below his knee cap :yikes: ................ at 18 years of age :shocked: he never really recovered from that accident, and we soon lost touch, but it left a scar on my soul that would never be forgotten, and because of that, I never touched a 2 wheeled motor-cycle ever again.

Teddy had to remind me about priorities yesterday ........................... BARK!!!

Well, for the past 3 weeks, we haven't been ryding Teds Red Sled and for a few reasons. The first being my confidence level of Teddy's safety after our mishap to Lamonts and the second being of a mechanical nature of having a BRAKE FAILURE fault code and then the dreaded CHECK ENGINE fault code and then there's the fact that I took apart the rear passenger area to redo Teddy's Sun-Canopy, and after waiting 3 weeks for the parts that I ordered from GPS city, they finally sent me an email notice that they are back ordered and not due to ship until the 26-30th of July. So I finally got tired of waiting and started to put his passenger area back together and once together, I fired the Sled up and SURPRISE, all the fault codes were gone.

Knowing they were going to return sooner than later, we took advantage of it & went for a quick ryde, which turned out to be a not so quick ryde But You know how that goes, right? Going down to the corner store for milk, and you end up a hundred miles from home

Not sure why the fault codes would mysteriously dissapear like that, but decided to take full advantage of it & I quickly put Teddy in his rear passenger carrier and made sure he was tethered in nice and secure, turned on the Teddy-Cam to make sure he was nice and visible, and all was well. I honestly thought we'd just take a quick trip down to the dead end of our street and the codes would reapear and we'd head right back to the garage.

So for this reason, along with Teddy hating them, I didn't make the little guy where his Doggles and left them where they were, hanging from his Sun-Canopy :lecturef_smilie: which I knew better, but figured it was a quick 1 block ryde. Down and back we went and still no fault codes :clap: We stop back at the garage so I could clean the windshield dust off and as I'm doing so, I notice Teds Red Doggles are no longer hanging from his Sun-Canopy :shocked: and think to myself..... Dumb*ss, that's what you get when you knew better :lecturef_smilie: No big deal tho, as we live on a dead end street with little traffic, so I knew they had to be laying there at the end and most probably fell off when we turned around. As I'm finishing up with cleaning the shield, and I start putting Teddy's blue Doggles on him, I notice a teenager walking up our driveway and heading right for us. I hadn't remembered seeing him before, but just then, I see he has Teddy's Red Doggles in his hand and he brought them back to us. I look, smile and laugh, and he tells me that he saw us drive by, and we have chatted a time or two when he introduced Teddy to his pet pot-bellied pig, and he saw the doggles fly off and knew we lived at the condos at the other end of the street and just wanted to return them to us. Thanks bud :bowdown:

So, with no fault codes still showing, I figure we needed to run a few errands so that I can begin our maintenance on Teds Red Sled, and hopefully get rid of the fault codes for good, by changing the front rotors and brake pads and topping off the brake fluid and doing a full oil change, so we headed off to Advance Auto so I could get one of those recyclable oil containers, cause the last time I did an oil change, they'd take the old oil back, but if I didn't have Teddy with me :bowdown: they were'nt suppose to take the containers that the oil was in :shocked: but since Teddy has a way with just about everyone he meets, the guy did it that time, but told me I really need to get one of those containers, so we did.

We hadn't seen my one brother that recently hand hand surgery in a while and we were only a couple miles from his place, so I called and he was home so we stopped by for a visit. We usually stay for a couple of hours, but not this time. After about 15 minutes of Teddy schmooze'n with my bro, he just started barking for no real reason, at least that we could tell. Teddy isn't a yapper like many of the smaller breed dogs are, and he usually only barks for a reason, water, food, potty, toy/treat stuck in a place he can't get it or the all time most important one...... attention Just out of the blue ...... BARK .... look at me, look at the door ...... BARK! So I go thru our usual routine to find out what he's wanting, and I'll ask him down the line what he's wanting, and when I hit the right one, he'll usually spin around and BARK!

"Are you thirsty?"
nothing
"Are you hungry?"
nothing
"You need to go potty?"
nothing ....... just sitting there looking at me ............. waiting for me to figure this puzzle out.
"I know you don't have a treat here nor a toy, right?"
He just looks at the door and
"BARK!"
My brother laughed and said, "How long you said its been since you guys have ridden?" I told him about 3 weeks and he says, "Looks to me, like the lil guys wanting to get back on the road." So I asked him, "Teddy" and his ears perked right to attention, "Do you wanna ryde?" B I N G O !!!
BARK BARK BARK DANCE :dg1:in circles and he heads to the door. Hmmmmm......... guess he's wanting to ryde then, huh? .... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

So I apologize to my brother for our visit being so short, but he totally understood. Made the comment, "You gotta keep the boss happy, I get it." So we saddle back up and I double check all of Teddy's connections, and then we set off for home. Once we get close to my exit, I remember that my best friend & his daughter are on vacation at Disney World in Florida and that I needed to make another stop by his house out by the airport to feed his fish and make sure all was well with his house, cause we've had a few pretty sever pop-up thunder storms in our areas lately, so we keep heading south on Interstate 71/75 til we get to the I-275 interchange and just before we get there, we see a silver RS pull almost along side of us just as we came to the split, and we didn't know this RS ryder, and sadly, he went the other direction I was excited tho, cause he had some neat mods on his RS, like a smoked shield, lambskin seat among other items. Looked like a sweet RS and I'm thinking it just might have been the guy from the couple we met by chance along the mural river walk last year, but I'm not sure. Then I felt a little guilty also, cause I know a few locals wanted to ryde, but thinking we still had issues, I didn't reply about ryding, and now here we are out ryding

Anyways, we head out to my buddies house and water the peppers he recently planted and fed the fish and as we were about to take our leave, BOOM, another one of those pop-up thunderstorms hit and with a heavy downpour. Seeing as we weren't really prepaired to ryde in the rain, I decided to wait it out and since we don't have cable at our condo, Teddy & I could catch a few shows on my buddies system. So we waited it out a couple of hours, but after a short nap, Teddy was back to BARK!!!

I started feeling like that kid in the old Lassie Classics, you know, "What is it Lassie? Paws stuck in a well? He needs help now? Oh, no he's not stuck in a well, he just needs a beer now?" At least that's the way I remember them .................. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: But yeah, something like that, but with Teddy, its all about getting back on the sled and out on the open road with this little dog. So after a couple of hours last night, it finally stopped raining and I went out to his Sled, wiped it down for the most part, made sure my buddies place was locked back up, and Teddy was once again, Happy as a Spyder Ryde'n Pooch get'n to ryde again after a 3 week hiatus :clap::yes::clap:

The sunset on the way home was ............... breathtaking........... the sky to the west seemingly full of fire, with reds, pinks and oranges, and that giant red ball falling behind the hills ..... was a good reminder of why we ryde :bowdown:

Sure enough, on our ryde home, both our fault codes returned like clock work, but I'm thinking and hoping, their nothing major. Just need to do the brakes and new rotors and top off the brake fluid, and I'm hoping that doing the oil change will get rid of the check engine code & we'll be working on these today after work. Fingers crossed that's all it is and we'll soon be back on the road again ryding daily like Teddy says we're meant to .......:bowdown: Gotta keep the boss happy :dg1:

Mother Nature decided against us getting anything done in the garage yesterday, so we're now hoping that she'll cooperate for after work today ray:

I remember after my father passed away back in 1996 and then just getting married and still living in Northern KY http://goo.gl/maps/TLFQo & I was taking care of my mother and I asked my mom (who was in poor health) if she'd now like to move to Florida since dad was gone and could no longer stop her (had been a lifelong dream for both of us) and she was all for it. We drove down and looked for a house in the Tallahassee area (where we had relatives) for 3 days and we fell in love with an unusual A-frame house with a huge deck about 2 blocks off of Lake Jackson. I remember still being here in Kentucky waiting for our present house to sell, all awhile dreaming of that house in Florida and a new life that soon awaited us.

If we only knew then what we know now - - - -

Its been said, it usually takes living in 3 or 4 different homes before you realize what your 'IDEAL' house would be ...... but I also think, that is always changing as your family dynamic changes thru life.

While I did love that house in Tally, it quickly became a money pit and a nightmare to deal with. After 3 years and my seperation from my wife, and a promotion and transfer with my work to Clearwater Florida, I ended up in a small bungalow apartment that worked perfectly for myself and my mom, that was about 50 yards off of Clearwater Bay. That place, even tho small, was my favorite because of its location. I'm a beach bum at heart and this confirmed that for both myself and my mother. But once she had a stroke and started getting worse, and we knew her time was coming soon, we had a talk and decided that even tho we both loved living in Florida, it was best to return 'home' to Kentucky since that was where all the rest of our family was still living.

So I gave up that dream and mom and I returned to Kentucky, but with her ailing health and lack of insurance, the government wouldn't allow us to live together anymore, otherwise I'd have to be totally responsible for all her health care bills, which at this time, near the end of her life, was well in the hundreds of thousands and there was no way I could afford that. So we got her a brand new, just built apartment in a new senior complex that just opened.

Me, on the otherhand, I had been spoiled with us going to St. George Island every weekend for 3 years when we lived in Tallahassee and then living right next to the ocean for the past year, how was I going to be happy again living in Northern Kentucky or Cincinnati for that matter, all land locked besides the Ohio River.

So I ended up getting an apartment just outside of downtown Cincinnati, in a 26 story skyrise called the Edgecliff and lived on the 20th floor with sweeping views of the Ohio River and all of Northern Kentucky. I could see my moms apartment from mine, and we were only 5 minutes apart, so this worked out well, even tho, neither of us were too happy about it.

Living in a skyrise is different to say the least. Glad I did it, but not for me. And oh the stories I could tell about that place :shocked:

After being back 'home' for 3 years, my mom passed 3 days before Christmas and I was lost for the next 6 months. I had cared for her ever since I could remember, when she had fallen, hit the back of her head on a rock, which caused total amnesia and the left side of her body to loose all feeling. The first time I saw her in the hospital, with all those tubes & wires everywhere, and she looked me in the eye, and had no clue who I was, to say I was heartbroken would be an understatement. This was my mom, how could she not know who I was, I mean, I was her baby .........

It took a long while, I got to help teach her the alphabet, how to talk, how to tie her shoes, all those things she had once taught me, I got to return the favor and to teach her. The bond her and I had was more than words can communicate. I now understand better why all my siblings were so jealous of me growing up, because of the bond that mom and I shared. Over time, many years of physical therapy she got mobility back to her left side, but she never did get the feeling back. I remember one day, as she was cooking in the kitchen, her left hand was on the burner of the stove, and she had no clue until she smelled her flesh burning. To say she had a rough life would be the understatement of the century, bit she was a strong lady that did the best with what she had to work with.

Anyways, after I collected my composure as best I could from loosing her, I found myself totally lost. I mean, I had lived my life, since the age of 6, being the care-taker of my mother, and my dad, well at 6 my dad was 68 years of age & a horrible alcoholic, so somebody had to step up and me being the youngest, that was my job. Even signed out of school as soon as I turned 16 so I could get a full time job and bring money in, especially if I wanted anything of my own. Such is life, you make the best out of the situation your dealt, and I did. But now, for the 1st time in my life, I had absolutely no one besides myself to care for.

So I did what anyone in my position would do and decided to live a little, as some might say. I moved from the Skyrise to an 1893 2 family house right in the middle of the party district of Mainstrasse Villiage across the river in Covington Kentucky. I had a buddy that I started party'n with that lived there and he was about to move out of state, and his landlord told him if he found a renter before he left, that he'd give him a hundred dollar finder fee, so my buddy asked if I was interested in his place. It was a 2 bedroom party house, every wall was painted a different color & it came complete with a roof-top deck with a view of the DownTown Cincy Skyline, and lets just say, the place had alot of character. I had one neighbor that lived on the ground floor, then I had the top 2 floors along with the roof-top deck. I liked this place alot and tried more than once to get the LandLord to sell it to me, but he wasn't interested in selling. I lived there for about 2 years and learned alot about myself to say the least and really enjoyed it.

That is til that fateful morning when my neighbor was pounding on my door at 4 in the morning screaming for me to get out while I still could. This is the last place I lived before buying the condo that Teddy & I live in now. And this is the place that caught fire ............. consuming just about everything I owned at that time. Talking about a real life lesson. Most of us, myself included, take so much for granted on a daily basis, and sometimes, it takes loosing everything to help you see what is really important in life. Possesions and materialistic things can be replaced, but your health and people, friends and loved ones can't.

It had just about everything I wanted, at that time, as far as being stuck here in landlocked Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Its right off the river with a beautiful view of not only the river but also a full city view of downtown Cincinnati as well (but that just can't compare to a beautiful ocean or beach view in my personal opinion) 2 decent sized bedrooms with 2 baths, its not huge but 1250 SF for just Teddy, Louie & I is plenty, tho Teddy has more closet space than I. And it has a one Spyder garage with an extra parking space as well. I lucked out at the time of the fire (if such a thing can be claimed) and the very unit I most desired, being the only single building unit in the complex with no neighbors on either side and only one neighbor living below, was for sale at that time. However, the unit had never been remodled and seriously needed it, so I was able to get it at a decent price below the $145K they were asking.

However, this is the first time I've ever lived in a condo complex, and while I like it enough for now to stay, I'm really learning the disadvantages of living in a condo. Like all the assesments, all the association dues, all those pesky bylaws that we're suppose to abide by, and most of, some of the neighbors that can just really rub a person the wrong way.

But the entire reason of this long drawn out post, is that because of our associations bylaws, technically speaking, we're not suppose to use our garages for anything besides personal storage space for belongings or a car. We're not suppose to work on our vehicles in our garages and I've been aproached by a few different residents cause they couldn't believe all the work that I've put into our garage, with assembling shelves and racks and not to mention the Spyder is technically considered by law to be a motorcycle, and I've already gotten notice that our RV (Moto-Mate Camper) isn't technically allowed to be on the property. Technically, residents aren't allowed to keep motorcycles, trucks or any type of RVs on association property.

So for the above reasons, I can't really insulate the walls of the garage nor put in any type of heating or cooling system, tho we have installed a ceiling fan. But yesterday, as I was gathering tools to start on the job of the brakes and the oil change, BOOM, pop-up thunderstorms hit hard and I have to keep the garage door closed, or all the rain would blow right in. With the door closed, there's no air circulation, and within a couple of minutes, your dripping sweat, making for a miserable time.

I tried twice, and within 15 minutes of going back out to the garage, BOOM.... another storm would hit with pouring down rain. So I finally gave up on it yesterday, and will try again today after I get home from work.

Sorry ..... Now back to our story

OK, so I had to reach out for some help and clarification, cause as I stated earlier, this was suppose to be just a quick trip out to a shop or two and WallyWorld and back then back to the hotel, since it was raining anyways, but here's what it lead to in a nut-shell, as Jeff so kindly reminded me.

So, as you can see, one store would lead to another, and another, and another and etc .......... all in the hopes of just being able to find 2 antenaes for our Spyders and those damn Ice Fishing Gloves that Mike just had to boisterously recommend so highly, that we found, we weren't the only ones on a quest this day to find them.

Since Jeffs memory is much better than mine, I'll go off his cheat-sheet list and continue on with our story. After ORiely's we figured we'd stop by WalMart since it was close, not to mention, we honestly thought at the time, we'd be killing two birds with one stone, as we hoped to find antenaes that would work, along with those Ice Fishing gloves.

Jesse being the pro that he is, pulls his Ridgeline right up to the front doors of WallyWorld to drop all of us off, while he went and parked his truck, seeing as it was still pouring down rain and he didn't want all of us to needlessly get wet and chance us melting like sugar .... ...... (more like sh*t if you ask me) ...... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

So Jeff, Jim, Teddy & I walk inside and we wait a few minutes for Jesse to find a suitable parking spot and then to join us. After a few, we head back to the camping and automotive sections of WallyWorld in hopes of finding the treasures that we seek. After 15-20 minutes of fruitless searching, up one aisle and down another, we finally gave in and did what most men don't :lecturef_smilie: ..... we actually asked for assistance .... cause we just couldn't locate any antenaes at all, and even tho we found many different types of gloves, Ice Fishing gloves were no where to be found. Jeff or Jim would find a pair and hold them up, but I'd readily shoot them down, being the only one of our group that had actually seen them and tried them on, I knew exactly what we were looking for, and try as they might, none that they showed me were the right ones. After finding a sales associate to help us, we found that this WalMart actually didn't carry ANY Antenaes at all, not even in there automotive department ... :shocked:

I'll admit right here, I was shocked, as I thought pretty much ALL WalMarts across the country carried pretty much the same inventory, but sadly, we all came to find out, that just isn't the case. The stores carry inventory based on its region, and while Mike may have been able to find those nifty Ice Fishing gloves at his local WalMart in Vermont (which totally makes sense now) a WalMart in the middle of Missouri in April had no need for them, and alas, they did not carry them. Now as for why they didn't carry antenaes, I have no answer for that one. All the WalMarts I've ever been to before have always carried at least a small selection of universal adapter type of antenaes in their auto centers, but low and behold, not this one in SpringField Missouri ...... Strike 3 & Strike 4

So we pull up the Nav app on our smart phones and see that theres a MC shop not to far from our location, and we head there in search of antenaes and hey, they just may have some gloves, that while they may NOT be ICE FISHING gloves, per say, they may be just as good, right? Yeah...... right. ...... .and pigs and fly too ........................... :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

We hit the Kawasaki store and Strike 5 & Strike 6 and yes, while we are there, I'm verbally keeping track of our record with growing disdain :sour: We ask the sales guy their if he has any recommendations, and he suggests that we need to go to Harley Genes, as they are a Trike Shop mostly, and if any body is going to have the antenaes that we need, it would be Harley Genes ...... :bowdown: So off we go with new hope that we'll at least get half of what we need with this adventure.

After a little driving around, we finally see the HUGE sign advertising GENE'S GALLERY and on the sign, it even said 'WELCOME SPYDERFEST'


As you can see in the pic, the rain had calmed to a drizzle, but it was still gray and yucky & we were all glad to still be nice and dry being chauffeured around in Jesse's truck. Now as far as enjoying the ryde........ :shocked: lets just say, while Teddy & I were ryding in the front, with Jeff & Jim in the back, there were definitely a few white knuckle moments :yikes: along the journey :shocked: but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so I'll just leave it at that ..... and be thankful that we had a gracious chauffeur and we are all still alive to tell the tale ........... :bowdown: ... :roflblack::roflblack:

Have to admit, Genes was a pretty nifty little place and they had all kinds of Trikes and conversions, along with trailers, many of which I had never seen before and only heard of. For instance, from here on SpyderLovers I had heard of and researched Wags Trailers, but had never seen one in person. The company has since gone out of business, but they had a top notch quality product, tho expensive & I think that was their downfall. They made small motorcylce trailers for pets, like to carry your dog behind your bike.

Here's the one they had, and it was used & being sold on consignment, as the owners dog had passed away & he wasn't going to get another dog, so had no need to the trailer any more. I was really impressed with this trailer, as it looked just like a miniture horse trailer and with all the Bells and Whistles, it looked really sharp. If I knew Teddy would be ok with ryding seperate and I had a need for the passenger seat for a human companion, and could afford it this would be the way to go But I know Teddy, and even tho it had a solar powered fan, vents and windows, he just wouldn't like not being able to see me and ryde like we do:lecturef_smilie: & I accept that:bowdown: But just for giggles, we had fun with having Teddy sit, stand, lay and pose in & on the trailer so we all could take a few pics, & Gene was all for it ...... :thumbup:

Wow, we had a record overnight low of 55F degrees & I rode to work this morning

Even after doing the oil change and front brakes and rotors and making sure the brake fluid was topped off, still no luck with getting rid of our BRAKE FAILURE & CHECK ENGINE faults. The brakes work without fail & every time I check the engine, its still there :dontknow:

Is there any chance in you mod efforts that a sensor connector could have gotten disconnected?

If not it could be in the control module.
It doesn't sound like something you should ignore.

The Fault Codes are C0049 P0335 P1030

I'm at work now, so I don't have the repair manual handy to reference & my memory is what it is but I recall one being for the Brake Fluid being low, which I waited to top off til after I replaced both front pads & rotors and then topped the brake fluid off with only needing a little over an ounce and I thought for sure that problem would have been solved, but no luck, still getting BRAKE FAILURE warning fault, even tho the brakes are performing as they should. Guess I'll start digging around the rear brake area & see if there's anything obvious that jumps out at me back there :dontknow:

If I'm remembering correctly, the others had to do with the crank shaft position sensor or something to that effect. Again, my memory sucks, but when I pulled up said sensor and referenced the blow-up diagram, it seemed to look like a part on the right side of the engine in close proximity to the side cover on the engine that has the ROTAX label on it. I will be taking the tupperware off when I get home from work today to also investigate this area. Like you said, maybe that connection has come loose, but I doubt its gonna be something so easy and simple to fix, but hey, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. After checking the codes from the manual, one was to check a fuse in the frunk, but it was good, so that wasn't it. The next step was to check continuity between resistors or something to that effect, and I have no clue about that stuff :shocked: when I see that kinda talk, I usually just scratch my head and walk the other way :sour:

Seems odd that these 2 faults & 3 fault codes are showing, and they seem to be serious faults, yet ..... no Limp Mode of any sort and the sled starts and runs fine :dontknow:

Again, I'm not ignoring them, and we haven't been ryding for the past couple of weeks, cause I had Teddy's rear compartment area apart waiting on some parts that I ordered to arrive, only to find out their on back order til who knows when. So I finally put his area back together and have been working on getting the brakes and oil/filters changed in hopes that would cure our ills, but alas, to no effect .... :banghead:

So I will once again, start taking things apart to see what there is to see.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, while I had the front wheels off yesterday to do the new pads and rotors, I went ahead and plasti-dipped the front wheels from black to red and even tho its not an exact match with the Viper red of the Sled, I still like them alot :clapid the Glo-Ryder casing in black to stand out against the red of the wheels, but left the center SPIDER part in red for contrast :thumbup: I'll work on posting a pic so y'all can see

P0335 = Crankshaft Position Sensor - damaged CPS, damaged damaged circuit wires, damaged connector or damaged ECM output pins
P1030 = HO2S heater control circuit sensor 1 - blown fuse, damaged or disconnected O2 sensor, damaged or disconnected circuit wires, damaged ECM output pins

Multiple, unrelated faults usually point to a serious wiring problem...damaged wires, disconnected connector, short circuited harness, etc.
