There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

When its been a couple of days since posting, there's usually a story why.....
Can you remember the last time you were sick with a really bad stomach bug? How good you felt on the first day that you felt better & thought it might be over? Only to find yourself thinking you've got to burp but that leads you running back to the Porcelain Thrown to regive your offerings once again. Ugh, I know we've ALL Been Ther & Done That!!! Well, when it comes to me, you know I've got to throw a twist in there, so try talking on the phone (which I just had turned back on) while one of these little episodes happens to happen & guess what happens?
Did you follow that train of thought all the way thru til it derailed? If you did, where'd your phone end up? Probably same place as mine..... IN THE FRIG'N TOILET!!! right? Well, that's where mine ended up....OMFG!!!! REALLY??? ARE YOU FRIG'N SERIOUS??? In the toilet it goes & then I spent the next 10 minutes of covering it over with my dinner. Needless to say, I thought about NOT fishing it out & if I thought it was (small enough to pass) I would have left it right there, but I knew it would get stuck, so I grabbed a pair of bar-b-q tongs & hsd to go "fishing" for a lost cause. I tell ya, sometimes, when it rains, It really does pour.

Ever see the movie 'Less than zero' well I feel 'Less than Useless' after this weeknd
My buddy Doug stopped by after work on Saturday & Sunday to help with the Spyder mods & I tried my best to help him but I actually caused more problems than I provided assistance. I used to think about the title of that movie with the way my mind works, and it was hard for me to understand how you could have something that was less than zero. There isn't anything that's less than zero is the way my mind use to think, til I watched that movie, then I began to understand how something could be less than nothing.
Well, that's how I felt this weekend. We (Doug actually) did the rear brake pad replacement while I just kept dropping things that he'd ask for & patiently waited til I'd finally get the idea thru my thick skull that my right arm just doesn't work & that I need to consciously think every time I go to pick something up and to use my left arm for anything that weighs more than a couple sheets of paper, so so frustrating tho.
He was finally able to get the rear pad replaced, when we came time to reinstall the rear wheel. To do that tho, we had to finish the rear wheel Sprocket & Hub assemblies, but ... going by the new 2011-2012 repair manuals, it suggests replacing ALL of the bolts that hold the hub to the wheel. My buddy, being a MillWright by Trade, is very particular about following directions & schematics & stopped when I told him that I hadn't ordered new bolts cause I thought it was okay to use the old bolts, but he pointed out the yellow loc-tite on the bottom threads and recommended that I do as the manual suggests& order the new bolts as well

The 3M ScotchGrip on the threads is a microencapulated epoxy threadlocker. On of the nifty things about it is that not all the microcapsules are crushed when used, so it will remain effective for a second, and sometimes a third use...although with somewhat reduced strength. The safest way is to replace the bolts, or clean them and use Loctite, but I have not seen them loosen upon second use.

That's kind of what I was thinking myself, but since I'm having to have my buddy do everything for me, he said he didn't want to take the chance. I'll clean them, apply some of the blue loc-tite that I have and try it myself, left handed..... oh this should be fun:banghead::roflblack::yikes:

Teddy works his MAGIC & saves us once again
Ok, so I think I mentioned how my old cell phone went for a toilet dive & subsequently died a really nasty death RIP Original Droid, you served us well for almost 4 years. When we went to our local Verizon store to see what we could do about replacing Ole Faithful, we were told I either had to invoke my insurance policy & pay the deductible just to get a refurbished model just like it or wait til next May when my upgrade was available or pay full price out of pocket for a new model & ALL this was pleasantly explained to us after waiting in line for almost 40 minutes. We went to the same location the night before, but left after waiting in line almost an hour & we still had 7 ppl in line ahead of us....UGH!!!! Very Frustrating to say the least.
So we left feeling down trodden, defeated & kind of naked (without having a cell for emergency use or whatever) as we've become accustomed to having the world at our fingertips for many years now and not having that reassurance left me worried about every little thing, like what do I do if I get in an accident or blah blah blah, you get the point, I'll admit it, I'm soft :agree:

Most carriers have 2 year contracts. If your phone is 4 years old, it should be way out of contract...

You could look on Ebay for a used phone or search the web for a used phone. I had to do that once. It would be a lot cheaper.

:agree: You are due for an upgrade and you should be able to get a older style phone for next to nothing with another 2 year agreement.
Like someone else mentioned, Ebay is a great sourse for a used Verizon phone. Just make sure it's unlocked. You will be able to activate it at your Verizon store without signing a new contract. :thumbup:
Spyder3, I don't think a Sprint phone will work for a Verizon customer. I know a few years ago they wouldn't, so I'm not sure if things have changed since then.

To finish our little phone saga***Teddy to the rescue
So we took our leave of the not so helpful Verizon store & popped in for a few minutes of mayhem at PetsMart where Teddy headed straight for the metal scale to weigh himself and then he acted like he was in line for a room at ghe vet. I swear, this has got to be the ONLY dog that actually LIKES going to the vet. Tho he didn't need to be seen, just a quick refil of his narcotics (Torib in cherry syrup) that he has to take daily to calm his condition when he gets excited of having a collapsing trachea, which is kind of common amongst smaller breeds of dogs. Without it tho, and he can barely stop coughing enough to catch his breath, poor little guy. So we got his refill & on our way we went. PetsMart is close by BestBuy so we decided to stop by there and see if they might be able to help us with our phone delima. I grabbed a cart & put Teddy in the kiddy seat & we promptly headed to the cell phone counter where I was busy dsydreaming. All of a sudden, a young (20 something) guy that worked there noticed Teddy and came over for a closer look. After a few minutes of talking and playing with The Tedster, the young guy confided, "You know, you guys just changed my whole perception of little dogs. Yours has got to be the coolest little dog I've EVER seen." as he was giving Teddy a Hi5.TBC. . . work
