Dave & Teddy's Most Excellent Adventures 2012

Never be sorry to share memories of your Mom, Dave, as it is all we have of them (besides tokens)! My mom passed away in 2003, My wife and I got married in city hall in Feb. which she was able to witness, but passed before the summer party we had for the two families to meet. Miss her every day.

No matter how old we are - we're all still kids when it comes to the emotions of losing Mom and Dad.

Most of my excuses are gone, all the puzzle pieces have arrived, garage almost done

Jesse, another local RT-S owner (he's the guy with the tricked out Black & White RT that was DOA at Lamonts this year) called and asked what was up, & I explained how Teds Red Sled is in about a hundred pieces spread out all over the place, so he asked if he could come over and see. "Sure, why not, you're likely to see parts of the Spyder you may never see in your lifetime", and that he did. He readily agreed with Dave here, who mentioned how ugly the Spyder is, once all the tupperware is off, and agreed, "Just put that in the front yard for Halloween, you'd scare ALL the kids away." :yikes::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Reminds me of the statement, "SO UGLY, ONLY A MOTHER COULD LOVE" ;) But you know what, call it Addiction, Love what have you, but yeah, I LOVE THIS MACHINE:rolleyes:

He was amazed by being able to openly see the motor, with all the air-box & resonator removed and commented "its a work of art." Then I showed him the new KewlMetal system that we're going to put on, (just came last night) & was amazed at what he was seeing and the HUGE difference. Actually called up our local shop & got the Service Manager on the phone & had me explain what I was about to do, to get his take on it. Which I was a little concerned about doing (Warranty Implications) but heck, at this point, there's no turning back for us now, so I told him all that I was doing. His only real concern, which others of you that have gone before me with the KewlMetal System on an RT have also commented, no real issue except for when the Spyder is stopped & running in Hot weather conditions, cause then there's no air flow and his concern was that the engine then would be sucking in hot air, which could admittedly cause issues, but we'll see. Both Jesse & another local are waiting to see how this works on Teds Red Sled, cause their both ansy to do this with their own machines.

If you only knew what I've been putting myself thru these past few days, after 10 years of denial or implied ignorance of my mothers passing, to stumbling upon a life that was once mine, frozen in time, all so I can get the garage so its actually suitable & usable to get this thing fixed better than before, and actually put back together. Its been an emotional rollercoaster more than I could have imagined. I'll admit, I've actually drank a little even, & I'm NOT a drinker.

I have one rack yet, full of containers to go thru tonight, then I'll reorganize the shelves and give Teddy's New Garage two work-bench stations, along with 9 pull out containers for storing tools and also put up the peg board on the wall to help with more added storage space for tools & supplies.

Going thru all this stuff, I found so many tools, painting supplies and odds and ends, that eventually, I would have had to of gone out & bought for needed future projects to be completed. I was actually surprised how much was salvageable, as much was stored in these very same containers in the basement, where the fire didn't reach, only water, but they were safe for the most part being in these containers, most with lids.

:ohyea:Teddy & I are both, SO READY TO RYDE:ohyea:

Halloween costume for teddy.

Ran into a road block of sorts this weekend with the garage & the Spyder Work Rack

My buddy stopped over to give me a hand with installing the Spyder Work Rack that we aquired a few months back from Michael (STUNMUN on here) but we ran into an issue upon setting it up. We've found that one side is about an inch lower than the other side and am not sure why or if there is a purpose for this or not. I called and left a msg for Michael, but haven't heard back. I'm a little worried about what that means, as I knew he hated selling his beautiful white RT-Limited but had to due to 'health/personal' reasons. But trying to get everything lined up and installed kind of brought us to a hault once we realized both sides weren't equal, so it kind of stopped us in our tracks. Then yesterday, we had strong winds and rain, so I couldn't finish the last of the sorting of boxes, as they & the racks would have to all be out in the elements. Today is suppose to be nice again, so I'll hopefully get the containers taken care of after work today, and if we here back from Michael, we can finish setting up the work rack. If not, we'll have to improvise setting it up, and then we can start the process of finishing all these mods on Teds Red Sled:pray:

The world takes all types

You've all read about my co-worker Mary and how good of a person she is, especially with our working relationship, she's truly one of the "Good Gals" out there in the world. Well, night before last, while out for dinner, she unknowingly had her wallet/clutch (whatever women call the smaller handbag thing that you keep your money & cards in, inside the bigger bag that's a bottomless pit) stolen, without her knowledge. When she came in to work yesterday, she was frazzled that she couldn't find it, thinking that she just misplaced it, but fearing the worse. As soon as her bank opened, she called, and sure enough, got bad news. Ends up the theives went on a shopping spree & spent over $1600 at Walmart and more at a Meijer & tried to get $1100 of stuff at a CVS but was declined after trying 3 of her charge cards. Such a violation. She said when the bank first told her, she about thre up:barf: So sad, so frustrating.....:sour:

That is such a shame. :( However, once reported, she will not be held responsible for payment of those charges. Nonetheless, it's a terrible hassle getting everyone notified, cards cancelled, etc.

That is so so very sad Dave! People work so hard for their money and then this happens. I really hope she will come out of this ordeal alright.

Credit & Debit may work the same, but sadly the rules are different

True for the Credit Cards, minus $50 I believe. The really sad thing was that they figured out her PIN # & withdrew $500 cash from checking account, that's most likely lost for good.

Its always darkest just before the dawn

OK, I think Teddy has finally got his itchy & scratchy thing almost behind him (no pun intended) Come to find out, (after I gave away any treats that weren't on his diet) it wasn't from his Food Allergies at all, but those dang pesky fleas, due in part by my best friends divorce. His Ex-wifes dog had fleas, which ended up transferring to his (used to by my) cat, which in turn, transferred to Teddy whenever we would go over to his place & babysit. Being broke, I thought I was doing good when I bought the Generic Formula of FrontLine at WalMart (almost 1/2 the price of name brand) and when I originally took Teddy to the Vet I even took a vial with me to show his Vet, and she confirmed that it had the same ingredients so it should have been effective. However, after 2 weeks of hell for the little guy, he was just getting worse & couldn't stop scratching so much, that he now has little sores in about 3 or 4 different places. When I took him back to the Vet & explained he didn't seem to be getting better, she said sometimes animals can build up a tollerance to a certain flea treatment, and that it won't be nearly as effective, not to mention, with generic, even tho it may have the same ingredients, the amounts could differ greatly. After another review & confirmation, she gave him a chewable tablet called Comfortis & said that it should kill all the fleas on him within an hour & that within a couple of days, he should be totally flea free. Thank goodness, this has worked-YAY!!! I mean you couldn't even touch him before without his entire body going into shivers. So much better now & I talked my buddy into getting his cat to the vet & on a similar treatment & in turn, asked him to talk to his ex about her dog & having him treated, or we'll just continue on with this cycle -UGH!!!

Good news with the garage, I can see the light-YAY!!! Tho,if you were to look at it right now, you'd think me insane & in need of commitment. Did you know, that in Florida they have whats called the "Baker Act" where you can have a person committed against their will, if you can prove they are a danger to themselves or others? Oh the things we learn with marriage-LOL but that's another book in of itself-LOL

But yeah, my buddy is still working on the Spyder Work Rack and its best possible useful application in Teddys little garage. Have I ever told y'all, that my buddy (love him more than my own brothers, known him over 25 yrs) is kinda like Tim Allen from Home Improvement in many ways-LMAO- Seriously. Ex. I had him build me a computer one time and it turned out great, but he was like watch this, you can OverClock this thing & get even quicker processor speeds & sure enough, he was right, all the way up til he fried the processor-YIKES!!! LMAO

So we were looking at the limited space available and how large the work rack is & yesterday, he said he has a plan. We can use an electric hoist that he has but hasn't ever used and when the Work Rack isn't needed, just hoist it up to the ceiling out of the way, allowing more open floor space for Teds Red Sled to easily reside inside his soon to be newly completed garage. Hey sounds great, right?- LOL We'll see how this one goes. He's working on all the little ins & outs of whats needed to get it all set up correctly, & we'll go from there.

But last night, I was able to get all of the containers from the last rack on the back wall gone thru & sorted. When I finished and moved the racks around, we'll actually have tons of space once we're completed. I was really amazed at how much clutter had been taking up so much space, and now its mostly wide open. We'll even be able to have shelves on both sides of the garage, once we get thru. I'll post a couple of pics of how I left it last night, still in total shambles but at least now, the potential is evident & the light at the end of the tunnel is bright. Soon grasshopper........... soon we'll begin the largest undertaking I've ever attempted in putting Teds Red Sled V2.0 back together again, better than ever!!! (I'm hoping)

If you remember, this is what the back wall looked like:
IMG_20121010_164836.jpg

But the back wall center will be where the Spyder Work Rack will reside:
IMG_20121016_203940.jpg

And with the Work Rack in the center, we'll have room on both sides for shelves:

Dave, just a thought about Teddy and the fleas..............if he has had them for a while, they could be now living in your carpeting in the condo.....:gaah:........you might have to get those little critters killed off also!:lecturef_smilie:

Yup, done taken care of & my buddy is as well

You are correct, they can live just about anywhere, but I've been vacumming and laundering just about anything & everything we can in hopes of erradication;)

Found a cool tip on-line when I was researching it all that I hadn't thought of. Flea Collars (for the most part) don't work very well, cause it only kills fleas where it is, around the neck of your pet, and leaves all the others to be happily biting away. But, if you put a Flea Collar in your vacum bag or canister, it will kill all the ones that you vacum up with no hopes for the little terrors to escape & continue their dasturdly deeds:thumbup:

Damn, it was worth a try, but you know banks always leave themselves a way out

I think she'll get her $500 back if she reported it within 2 business days.

Good catch Rar, and she did report it the very next business day, but .....

:gaah: Hmm - a credit union? :dontknow: Clearly, the card was not in her possession at the time of the theft. I'm going to check around some more, though.

Your message box was full, so I sent you an email regarding this, together with my source. Essentially, a credit union or bank cannot impose a greater penalty than what the State or Fed govt would do.

OOOpppppPPppppppsssssssssss............ My bad

Your message box was full, so I sent you an email regarding this, together with my source. Essentially, a credit union or bank cannot impose a greater penalty than what the State or Fed govt would do.

Sorry bout that, I'll get to cleaning out the clutter soon & thanks again for your assistance. Tho, I called the number for the Federal Financial Oversight and was told since its a Credit Union & not a traditional bank, I had to call a different number/place. Called them and was told since it was in Ohio, I had to call yet a different number/place & upon calling that one, you can't actually talk to anyone, but "Leave your name & number at the sound of the beep & we'll get back to you at OUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE." Really?

:banghead: Is this NOT the definition of Government runaround/Passing the buck or what :banghead:
