There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Dave & Teddy's Most Excellent Adventures 2012

Teddy

Not a bad idea, & I have an extra web-cam sitting around somewhere. I'll have to look into this :roflblack:pun intended:roflblack:

:yikes:I mean, he's doing it somehow, but I gotta see this:shocked:

Oh yeah! We all want to see how he's doing it!!! :ohyea::bbq::bbq:

Fascinating in deed. I need some computer/tech advice to figure this out

Very interesting indeed:rolleyes: I came home today & he was still upstairs in the bedroom:helpsmilie: So I dug out our old Fujitsu Micro-PC (predates tablets) & it has a built in web cam & we have wireless internet, but I have no clue how to go about streaming the image live so I can see it while I'm at work:dontknow: & I don't think the programming has or is set up for recording. I'm :helpsmilie:NOT:helpsmilie: a tech geek & would really appreciate any advice or suggestions on how I could make this work. :helpsmilie:Would be kinda cool if we could set it up so that y'all could maybe log in when you wanted to see for yourselves:clap:no?:dontknow: I know, in years past (before I had stalker issues) I would web-chat all the time using Yahoo IM, but I haven't used that in years:shocked:

We all know Teddy has a personal chauffeur. I think it's likely his personal Butler, personal Housekeeper or personal Chef who is leaving the door open...

I'd wager a small bet that he gets up on that desk next to the door ...leans on the handle.. and bounces it open just enough to stick his paw or nose in the crack. Good Luck on the video. Teddy is VERY intelligent and could have figured it out long ago but never used that info until now. He's just showing you how smart he is and wants his treat for it!!!:popcorn:waiting for new pictures showing how he does it!!!:ohyea:

I agree. He's probably using the desk........:bbq:

I don't know if he could get enough leverage from the desk to press down on the handle. Nothing in the corner of the desk seems disturbed. :dontknow:

Desk? What desk? Ohhhhh wait, y'all are talk'n bout the dresser, aren't yas>?

:lecturef_smilie:There's no desk in the bedroom y'all, thats a dresser with an old flatscreen tv sitting on it that survived the fire from the previous place I lived at:shocked: not that it really matters, right:rolleyes::roflblack:

And I just got the little Micro-Computer out to see if it still worked and if I could figure out how to get the built-in web-cam going so we all could possibly spy on The Tedster while I'm here at work, in the hopes of seeing how he's pulling his lil Hudini trick of escaping off:joke:

My personal opinion here, Teddy has never been able to jump up on top of that dresser, its too tall for him and its all laminted wood so it would be too slippery for him to jump up there and stay, without him sliding off. I think if he could manage to get up there, I'd have seen him do it before, but I never have.

Don't get me wrong, when I open that door, after being gone all day at work, he's usually like a lil Tazmanian Devil, litterally bouncing off the bed, chairs, doors and walls even, but again, never have I seen him be able to get up there on top of that dresser. (and as mentioned in one of the posts, nothing on the dresser is ever moved or outta place) Not saying it couldn't happen, just never seen it for myself:shocked::popcorn::dontknow:

So with taking that outta the equation, it still leaves me baffled as to how he's pulled it off, twice now. Yesterday, when I got home, he was still up there, barking and bouncing off the door for me to release him:yes::clap::helpsmilie::clap::yes:

:dontknow:Does anyone have any experience and or recommendations with any of these different apps that are available:helpsmilie::hun:

I'm researching one now in the Android Market called Camera WiFi LiveStream by DOOBLOU that claims to:

Stream video & audio across your WiFi network in real-time to be viewed & remotely controlled in a web browser or Adndroid device. Can be used to spy on people (Teddy) a serious surveillance device or just for fun.

Thats the claims it makes, and its got good feedback & reviews, but I've never tried anything like this and am not sure about how it all works, as usually most devices that are connected to the net time out after a certain amount of time without having any activity:helpsmilie::dontknow:

And I'm not sure of all the implications of doing something like this can have  I mean it would only be aimed at that door and Teddy when he's in front of it, so we can hopefully catch him in the act:rolleyes:

Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts or recommendations are greatly appreciated :bowdown::2thumbs:

I wanna see how he's doing this:banghead::helpsmilie::shocked::popcorn:

We've got door handles like that. Our rat terrier will jump at the door and as she slides down, the handle slides down with her and unlatches. And if she gets the littlest crack, she will get her nose or paw and pull the door toward her. I'm betting that his how he is doing it.

Hopefully you can get your webcam set up and see for sure.

I think that's how he's doing it too.

Knowing just how intelligent Teddy is – He has been working on an escape plan for ages to find out where his boss and close friend goes to without him

That's why it's called "Dogged" determination

Good luck with solving the mystery – We all need to know

Bet he's just jumping up on the door handle.....:ohyea:

:agree: Probably a two-step process...he jumps on the door handle, which releases the latch and pops the door just far enough that the latch doesn't close again. Then he scratches or paws at the door until it bounces open. Just a guess, of course. Get out the Go-Pro and catch him in the act. We wanna see just how smart the little imp really is.

Go Teddy, go!

Looks and brains:dontknow: You better step up your game. The next thing we know, the
Tedster will be driving the red sled and you will be sitting under the new red canister for shade.

:roflblack: Don't give Teddy any ideas. He is probably reading these posts every day, now that Dave set up that micro-computer. ;)

latch not engaging?

very common problem. door sags over time from top hinge wear, loose hinge screws, building settling. door will close but latch will not engage strike plate. it will open easily with a bump. just a guess:rolleyes:

Good guess buddy, but you'd be wrong

very common problem. door sags over time from top hinge wear, loose hinge screws, building settling. door will close but latch will not engage strike plate. it will open easily with a bump. just a guess:rolleyes:

The latch on that door does completely engage. I can close it & pull rather briskly & if your guess was correct, it would pull open, but it does not:lecturef_smilie: I've tried it a few different times all with the same result of the door remaining solidly closed:clap:

I'm thinking he's jumping up & hitting the handle with enough outside force to release the latch & then, as evidenced by the scratch & claw marks on the lower portion of the door, getting enough leverage to somehow :dontknow: pry it open enough to slide out, as others have suggested:thumbup: But that's still a heck of a feat for such a lil 10 pound 12" tall :doorag:HAM:doorag: :roflblack::roflblack:
